My sister is obsessed with Alice Cooper and having spent so much time at my house over the last year she has roped me in too and I have to admit to thinking he is pretty amazing. I couldn't decide which of his albums to tell you about so I figured why not just review the man himself. A bit of background first. Alice was born Vincent Furnier in detroit in 1948. In the 60's he formed a band which was called "The earwigs". They changed their name to "The Spiders" and then "The Nazz". They then learned that there was another band of the same name and so they changed their name a final time and stuck with "Alice Cooper". The Alice Cooper Workout

Disadvantages: Strobe lighting - aggro fans

The weather forecasters were wrong - we had a gorgeous sunny day for our trip from Kent to London to see one of my most idolised and favourite artists Alice Cooper. Chauffeured by the gorgeous Caroline (Disneygal) the other Alice obsessive in our trio was Mel (Gobalino). We had taken nearly two hours to ?Goth? up with complete eye make-up and black lippy, satisfied that we looked wonderful and after scaring a few young children we were well on our way to Hammersmith. The journey took nearly another two hours, allowing for road works. It was a fantastic atmosphere in the car, all the way we were having cars pull alongside with people waving, giving us the thumbs up and little kids pointing and then hiding when we grinned and waved. The Alice Cooper Show

Advantages: Classic songs, great live shows + Alice remains a ledgend
Disadvantages: Special forces, and a few other dodgy songs

on as a solo artist using the Alice Cooper name and released the album Welcome To My Nightmare. This horror-rock opus was built around the thread of Alice's working his way through a nightmare. Though it boasted plenty of full-throttle rockers like Cold Ethyl and Department Of Youth, it earned its biggest hit with Only Woman Bleed, a surprisingly poignant ballad that dealt with the subject of spousal abuse. Welcome To My Nightmare was also transformed into a successful television special that featured horror icon Vincent Price (who had narrated portions of "Black Widow" on the album). The TV spectacle brought the album to life in music-video form, thus anticipating the rise of MTV.
