So this is one of the original Zombie flicks. It's made in the days when zombies were zombies slow walking and murderous and a bit stupid. Not like todays versions were zombies are running all over the show making us Livies look really unfit. It's all that fruit and fibre people are eating it's affecting their afterlife and all.
The plot goes along the lines that a girl and her brother are visiting their fathers grave. Then they get attacked by a zombie and the brother gets killed. She runs away and into this abandoned house were she meets this otehr guy whose also running from zombies. He boards up the house whilst she gets on like a wee whinging cow avoiding doing any work and then they find out some people are holding out in the basement.
They then try and survive and escape etc. The main charcter Ben is great and does exactly what you want him to do (you'll see whatI mean when you watch the film. The thing what he does with the gun. And the bullet. And the annoying man with nasal hair)
It's a great horror film. oooh some people whinge because it's blac and white but i feel this adds to the atmosphere. The film has got everything what you want from a horror. Gore, impeding death, claustrophobic surroundings, scary children. It's a must for any Zombie film fan and if you've seen George A Romero's Dawn Of The Dead you'll have a good idea already what it's going to be like.
The DVD is your typical Elstree Hill DVD. Basically they only ever have the film and you've to count yourslef lucky if you get a scene selection feature because those copies are mainly resevered for the SS
(This film is my dream. I would love if everyone turned into Zombies and had to stay in a house and defend myself with bullets and build myself a little fort. It's not scary it's just fun. It's like doing everything Ray Meres has been pouncing about doing in the jungle to survive but in the cmfort of your own home. Plus some of the zombies could be people you know and dislike. )
GREAT ENDING TO THIS FILM. BEN'S DEMISE IS HILARIOUS IN MY OPINION.
