Advantages: Only Mr Miyagi Disadvantages: Take your pick: Acting, storyline, the idea of making a fourth without Daniel Son
...am a big fan of the original Karate Kid movies but I had never got round to seeing this one until recently. Great to see Pat Morita back as Mr Miyagi and a nice touch when he mentions Daniel. DVD Description
Since her parents death, raised by her grandmother and harassed at school, 17-year-old Julie Pierce (Hilary Swank, BOYS DON'T CRY) is very angry. Grandma can no longer handle her, so she convinces an old friend, Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita), to care for the girl. He consents, and through the spirituality of karate, unravels the world as not hostile, but as fertile and welcoming.
