OH MY GOD. I cannot believe that I have stumbled across this little gem. Believe me it is a gem. I LOVE this film. I used to watch this film every Christmas Eve. I am realy not lying. I know some people lie on reviews, but I really are'nt. I would prefer to watch this film all through the Christmas period instead of going out to the pub. Now that may really sound sad but it is just a master piece. This is one of the original great family films that manages to be an exceptional film without including any violence, drugs or sex. It is pure genius. Well I think that you have got the idea that I like this film. I will now talk about the film.
I really dont feel that I am spoiling the plot and storyline if I talk about it a bit. If you havent ever watched some adaptation or form of a Christmas Carol then you really must have being living under a rock...or in Leeds. Only joking I used to live in Leeds. Well it is based around two main characters mainly. Ebenezer Scrooge and Mr Rachet. Scrooge runs a rent office to put it simply and Mr Rachet among a few other work for Scrooge. Now you thought that you're boss was bad. Try working for this guy. He is a complete and utter slave driver. The employees get paid next to nothing for their work and have to work their fingers to the bone in a cold and damp office. He wont even allow his employers to put coal in the fire. Im not too sure about this so dont jump down my throat but I think it is set in Victorian times. Anyway Mr Rachet his his head employee and has a very full and happy home outside of work. His son Tiny Tim is a frail and unwell child. However would he be better in health if his father had enough money to provide more food and fruit. Will we ever find out? Even though Mr Rachet works for such a terrible man as Scrooge he still has an upbeat heart and doesnt let anything get him down or his family. Anyway one Christmas eve Scrooge gets visited by three wise ghosts. They show him his past, present and future. What does he see, well I will let you find that out. Anyway will Scrooge change his ways or will he always hate Christmas and everything associated with it. PLEASE NOTE: Even if you have seen a version of this before I wont tell you anymore becuase it does have its own slant to it and I really DO NOT want to spoil what happens. It is amazing.
The only character which I am going to tell you about is Michael Caine who plays Scrooge. I am only telling you that becuase it already says at the top of the page. lol. Well he puts in an amazing performance that is truly spectacular and historic. Oh dont worry ALL of the muppets make an appearance in the film. It has every muppet you wish to imagine in the film. I realy dont want to spoil it for you becuase the muppets put in such an amazing performance.
The soundtrack is also great. The music is spot on for the ever changing scenes within the film. Top notch.
PLEASE, PLEASE GO OUT AND BUY THIS. YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED.
Advantages: good Christmas Family fun Disadvantages: Fozzy bears jokes
...I see a film with the word Christmas on it, I just have to have it.
And 'The Muppet Christmas Carol' was no exception, I remember the film from years gone by, and as I'm trying to change all my Video's to Dvd, this was a perfect excuse.
Of course it the Charles Dickens classic story, of miserly loan shark and landlord, Ebenezer Scrooge.
Scrooges love of money, and his greed, has destroyed his life, losing his one true love, friends and family,
... ...in a stark warning, from the Ghost of his late partner Jacob Marley, warning Scrooge that he will be visited by the Spirits, Christmas Past, Present and Future.
Will Scrooge learn the error of his ways? Or is his future set in stone, with no way back?
The film is actually a surprising adaptation, using the Muppets, I thought, oh well it will make a good film for the Kids, but as adults, We enjoyed it very much, the fact that they are Muppets soon ...
