Beings as Christmas Day is nearly upon us , I thought that I should write a Christmas related review! And so , after stocking up on Christmas DVDs to keep me entertained throughout the festive season , I thought that I would share my findings with you.
The MuppetChristmasCarolDVD (1992) was released on DVD on 29th September 2008. The film is an adaption of the Charles Dickens story ,A ChristmasCarol. The DVD is a U which means it is suitable for everyone to watch , even young children. Running time of the movie is eighty five minutes (one hour and twenty five minutes).
The DVD is available to buy from Amazon for £4.88 which I think is great value.

It's the classic Christmas tale brought to you by the always wonderful and funny Muppets.
It is an adaptation of Charles Dickens' A ChristmasCarol. It was released in 1992 and fast became a Christmas favourite of me and my brother's. We have to watch it every Christmas time as it brings back lots of excellent memories. Even though it's a kids movie it can still be enjoyed by adults.
The story is a well know one and a tale of greed, lonliness, love and charity. It has a great message to it and one I think the muppets convey well in their own special way. Ebenezer Scrooge is a tyrant. The villagers are scared of him and he treats his employees as slaves. It's Christmas Eve and at night Ebenezer is visited by three ghosts, the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future and sees the errors of his ways. He then finds love and friendship ...
Advantages: A family friendly, accurate retelling of a classic story, with a good cast and memorable songs! Disadvantages: You're friends might give you a bit of stick but they secretly love it too!
I watched this again after a teen break from it; sad I know for a 25 year old to be watching a kids Christmas some months before the holiday season has started; but what is really sad is that this adaption is one of the most faithful adaps of Dicken's classic short story (aside from it being the Muppets of course). It also has one of the most memorable musical scores and has humour that suits both adults and the little ones alike.
