orchestra, the backing was supplemented by a synthesiser called a Mellotron. Each member of the group contributes songs and vocals although the most prodigious songwriter is Justin Hayward.
The album ?Keys of the Kingdom? comes from their latter years and was produced in 1991. By this time the line up consisted of Justin Hayward (lead guitar), John Lodge (bass), Graeme Edge (Drums) and Ray Thomas (Flute). If you have never listened to them it is the ideal introduction to the MoodyBlues ? featuring every aspect of their art. If you are a fan and missed the album first time around there is a very large hole in your collection.
The following is a play list with my personal star rating out of five:
1. Say It With Love ***** This is a demonstration of the Moodies wall of sound at its best. There is a driving beat from Graeme Edge ...
Advantages: Great story to illustrate what it feels like to be left out. Disadvantages: None
I LoveYou, Blue Kangaroo! By Emma Chichester Clark
This is my favourite book in the series and the one that I bought for my children first.
***What's it all about?***
As before, this book is about Lily and her favourite soft toy Blue Kangaroo and addresses the issue of being left out.
Lily tells Blue Kangaroo that she loves him, last thing before she goes to bed every night. Then one day Aunt Jemima comes to tea and give Lily a wild soft brown bear. Lily exclaims that she loves Wild Brown Bear and he takes pride of place next to her in bed that night - Blue Kangaroo is a little further away from her.
The next day, a family friend Florence also comes to tea. She brings Lily a yellow cotton rabbit. Lily loves Yellow Cotton Rabbit and Wild Brown Bear and of course Blue Kangaroo. However, that night, Blue Kangaroo is even more ...
Advantages: An amazing storyline, sweet, cute, sad everything you want in this kind of film! Disadvantages: The changes from the book...I wouldn't watch after just reading the book!!
shed a tear!
If you liked the book you will love this film, unlike many remakes of novels, this film sticks pretty much to the story of the film, although if I re-read the book I suppose I would see alot of differences, so if you have recently read the book, I would wait a few months to watch the film! :)
Other than that, there is nothing at all I dont love about this film, the characters are believable, the storyline is believable, its an amazing film!!!! SO soooo sad!!! ...
