how can i describe the mighty boosh? well, its that type of comedy that you'll either completely love (with a scarily obsessed passion), or you'll just absolutely not get...(although i think this is a crime if this is the case). this is the box set including series 1 and series 2. it comes in a black card case with the mighty boosh monkey face on the front. also inside is a little booklet (that you only get with this box set) featuring outtake photos from the shows, and pages of noel fieldings insanely brilliant scribble drawings. the two creators and actors of the mighty boosh are noel fielding and julian barratt. fielding plays the electro-rock-mod king vince noir, and barratt plays pessimistic-jazz-loving howard moon.
SERIES ONE howard and vince, work in a run-down zoo called the zooniverse, overseen by retarded american Bob Fossil, can't afford any real animals, forcing howard and vince on the odd occasion to dress up as animals to fill up the zoo. Vince accepts the situation happily (for how can you be unhappy when wearing a poncho?), quite in contrast to his tweed-wearing jazz-funk loving colleague. vince, the mick jagger worshiper who calls himself 'mogli in flares', has the abilty to talk to animals, which provides much of the comedy in this first series, whilst uptight howard 'the monsoon moon' prefers to think of himself as a suffering, yet brilliant artist and musician. the banter between these two is just brilliant. so inventive and random...you could amost die laughing. other great characters are naboo the enigma, a shaman who works at the zooniverse sovenier shop, and bollo his gorilla familiar. from battling mutant animals engineered in a secret laboratory underneath the zoo, fighting a kangaroo, getting lost in the jungle with a man made of cheese, dancing with polar bears, bubble gum mosters, and the ape of death, howard and vince always find themselves at the centre of some very very very strange and bizarre events. Series 1 Episodes 1. Killeroo 2. Mutants 3. Bollo 4. Tundra 5. Jungle 6. Charlie 7. Electro 8. Hitcher
SERIES TWO howard and vince have left the zoo and are now free to embark on a whole new set of bizarre adventures. in search of fame and fortune, things don't quite work out as planned as they end up in more comedic shannanigans. kidnapped by the mythical Yeti, battling the evil Betamax bandit and abducted by old gregg the merman of the Black Lake, talking coconuts and old grannies who can destroy the world! this series, like the first continues to have fantastic little song interludes (written be the pair) and creatively surreal animated sequences, making the mighty boosh one of the best cult comedy programs of all time. its just a shame they didn't do anymore. Series 2 Episodes 1. The Call of The Yeti 2. The Priest and the Beast 3. Nanageddon 4. Fountain of Youth 5. The Legend of Old Gregg 6. The Nightmare of Milky Joe
