The Matrix for me was the blockbuster of 2000. I enjoyed watching it over and over again.

The action scenes were out of this world and the cinematography was breathtaking. The story line is a bit far fetched but when you immerse yourself in a film of this kind when think about it, it is somewhat possible. The idea that the world is a wool pulled over our eyes while machines use us as their power source is possibly one of the most discursive points in the whole film it does open somewhat of a psychological side to the film and does make you question your own existence to some extent. The way they use "bullet time" photography was entirely genuine up to this point and they used it to great effect but now however every man and his dog who makes a film uses some variation on it.

The main characters Neo and Morphious are acted out superbly by Keanu Reeves and Lawrence Fishburne respectively. These two play two of about eight characters who are rebelling against the machines and the whole story revolves around these two characters mainly with some nice twists along the way.

However this is where my opinion will end as so not to spoil the story for all those who have not yet lived because they haven’t seen THE MATRIX.
