I have to admit The Matrix is not really my kind of film, this was a present I bought for my hubby last year and he loves it. I paid £29.99 from play.com and it was worth every penny. You can get it much cheaper on ebay now but hey it's a year on.
I'm not a big sci fi fan but I don't mind The Matrix, I like the sound track, I like Laurence Fishburne, and I like agent Smith, but for me the story is a little far fetched. Any way, enough of my likes and dislikes on with the review.
The acting is brilliant in these films, all the characters are strong and the actors play them perfectly. Keanu shaved his head, vomited and had sex scenes. Fishburne, is shot at, beaten up, happy, sad and dumfounded. Everything is done perfectly.
This is the 3 DVD Matrix box set. This means you get The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.
The Matrix Neo is a guy who
never really fitted in, he hadn't many friends and he spent too much tome typing away on his computer so when some one hacks into his computer and tells him he does not belong he willingly believes and accepts that life as we now it, is a lie. We are all in fact plugged into the Matrix, a computer program designed to tell our brains that we are living the live we chose to live when we are actually plugged into a huge machine designed to feed the aliens that have taken over our planet. Neo brakes free from this Matrix and joins a Gang of revolutionaries lead by Morpheus, who are trying to free people from the Matrix and claim back the planet. Morpheus, neo and the gang are pursued by agent smith, an alien disguised as a human, who desperately wants to kill them.

The Matrix Reloaded Neo, Morpheus and the gang are back and ready to take on more Agents in this second chapter. This is the Best of the 3 in my mind as we see more about the Humans which are surviving on earth and the home the have made underground in Zion. This time we see Neo is becoming stronger and more of a leader, which is good because the agents pursuing them are stronger too, they have been cloned and upgraded to give them an advantage over the human race. But Neo and the gang have ore allies this time, the humans have there spaceships and are armed and ready to fight and win back their planet. The war is on. The Matrix Revolutions The war is well underway now. And hopes are on Neo to find out the truth behind The Matrix and help the Humans win the war. The special effects have always been great In The Matrix but they are especially good in Revolutions, with fight scenes, clones, jumping and explosions, The Matrix is a visual master piece. Neo goes to hell and back to help win the war but will he win? Will the human race ever be restored or is all lost to the Aliens? To any one who hasn't seen it I think the ending is diapointing, they seemd to have coped out of giving a proper explanation and just settled for letting a old man jabber on for 10 mins about nothing. For people who have seen it you'll know what I mean. However that is just my opinion and many people will love the ending I'm sure.

Extras Disappointing. The extras are minimal just film-ographys and trailers but hey you can buy the game on play station if you wanted to.
All in all good films, good set, would fit in any dvd collection. But don't let the little ones see it some of the images of the aliens in reloaded can be a little scarey (maybe not just for the little ones)

Of course the films are far-fetched - it would be a dull world if films were crafted within the boundaries of the "real". Sometimes I wonder if people actually have an imagination for the more abstract films out there... Alboy

I think you were done if you paid £29.99 for the 3 disc set. I got that 10 disc Matrix collection for less than £20.00 earlier this year.
