Yeah I know theres a canny few of these Matrix reloaded ops floating around at the minute and I decided to follow the trend. I had never seen the original matrix and had never really been interested in it, Sci fi movies and stuff aren't really my scene but my friend desperatley wanted to see this and I felt guilty saying I didnt want to so I thought watching the first movie would be quite a good idea before I trailed to see the second.
I must admit I really enjoyed the first and was chuffed that I understood it and I couldn't wait until I saw the second. The one thing that worried me was that in the past sequels to movies a great as the Matrix have been doomed to fail in the past and it worried me that a sequel might ruin the film. I must say I was not disappointed. Having seen varied opinions on this film I must say that my love of the matrix lives on and I cannot wait until November.
~*~The Plot~*~
The film opens with Trinity fighting a few security guards being followed by an agent falling down out of a window and Trinity being shot. Neo then awakens and we learn it was just a dream.
We also learn that Neo has been having problems sleeping. The film is set about 6 months after the original film and that has given enough time for Neo to get to grips with his new powers and learn to use them better. The story unfolds that those funny looking octopus machines are digging and the people of Zion believe they are going to attack. Morpheus believes that Neo is the one who will save them all but some doubt Neo's ability. Inside the matrix Agent Smith has been able to free himself from the Matrix and therefore is now stronger. He has found a way to copy himself and is using this to his advantage against Neo.
The story really starts to unfold when Neo goes back to visit the oracle. He is welcomed by the oracles bodygauard and has to fight him just to make sure he is Neo. The oracle tells Neo he needs to find the keymaker as the keymaker is the only one able to unlock the door. The oracle also tells Neo he must be in a certain place at a certain time to talk to the Merovinghian. The next big fight scene is the famous Neo against 100 agent smiths. The effects used in this scene are absolutely breathtaking and great to watch. It really makes you remember what makes you love the film so much.
Neo makes his way with Morpheus and Trinity to see the Merovinghian and this leads to a fight scene in which Trinity and Morpheus grab the keymaker (hes so cool!!) and Neo against 5 of the Merovinghian bodyguards. I love this particular fight scene mainly because it has my favourite music from the film (Rob Dougan) but also because its amazing! This combat also leads the the infamous freeway scene with those creepy twins with dreadlocks (yeah those two from Carol Vordermans "Better Homes") As most of the combat scenes this is absolutely breathtaking. The effects are amazing. I'm not going to tell you anymore of the plot because this is the point in which the film really picks up, however the "to be concluded" message at the end does kind of leave you a bit disappointed.
~*~The Cast~*~
Neo - Keanu Reeves Trinity - Carrie-Anne Moss Morpheus - Laurence Fishburne The oracle - Gloria Baker The Keymaker - Randall Duk Kim Merovinghian - Lambert Wilson Agent Smith - Hugo Weaving Directors - The Wachowski brothers Film rating - 15
~*~My Opinion~*~
The soundtrack to the film is absolutely outstanding but it focuses around one type of music referred to these days as "nu metal" The album features artists such as Linkin Park and Marilyn Manson. My personal favourites from the album are the tracks by Rob Dougan (they are played in some of the fight scenes)
The acting in the film is absolutely superb and I loved every minute of watching it although I must admit that the characters that stood out to me as the best were not the three main. The characters that thrilled me the most was the keymaker (hes just so damn cool!!) the Merovinghian, as he definatley had the most memorable lines in the whole film (hence my title!) along with agent Smith. I think the three really portrayed their roles well and I couldn't help but laugh at some of the lines that were said by the three. I think that Neo, Trinity and Morpheus were played well but they didn't stand out as the best.
The special effects in this film are absolutely sensational and I myself favoured the one in which Neo fought the 100 agent Smiths. Many have critisised the film believing that the special effects were a bit over the top but for me they made the film. The only thing that disspointed me was the "to be concluded" at the end which means until November I have to live not knowing the consequences. This will be a sure addition to my DVD collection. All I can say to you is judge for yourself with so many mixed feelings on this film I think that it comes down to the persons own views and I think that this film is definatley worth seeing.
Thanx for reading Jenni xx :o)

Great film op as usual. It took me a while to get into the film but it definitely was good.

Great review...I actually liked this film (and Revolutions, funnily enough) which may make me one of the rare ones. Have to agree with the Merovingian having some of the best lines though, although some of Smith's were good as well. Keep the great reviews coming :)
