The MatrixReloaded is the follow up to the huge smash hit The Matrix. Again the plot centres around Neo (Keanu Reeves) Morpheus, Trinity, and the rest of the crew as they continue to battle the machines that have enslaved the human race. That's not all though, they learn that 250,000 sentinels are digging towards them in order to wipe out the humans who dared to rebel against them.
I think it's fair to say I was more excited about this film that any film before or since. And when I left the cinema after seeing it for the first film, I was a little confused. I knew it wasn't a bad movie, but it wasn't up to the standards of the first one either. For me the script is too bloated and pretentious, and the philosophical aspects seemed a bit forced in places. And I defy anyone to understand what The Architect said first time around ...
Advantages: Dazzling special effects, great acting, Keanu Reeves Disadvantages: Philosophy - why?, poor script, drags on for the first hour, quite a long film
The MatrixReloaded... I was originally going to not write an op on this, as it's just so confusing and it would be a case of the blind leading the blind, but I'll have a go anyway!
If you haven't seen the Matrix, then here's a quick summary: Neo (Keanu Reeves) is a computer programmer. He meets Morpheus, who is the one who inform him of The Matrix. There are a group of people who have escaped from The Matrix and are desperately trying to put an end to it, and have a way of dipping in and out of the real world and The Matrix. They believe that someday, a certain someone, The One, will come along and destroy it. Morpheus thinks that Neo is that someone who will save ...
Advantages: Fantastic action sequences, engaging story Disadvantages: Slow uninspiring opening half hour, a little pretentious
Cast: Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishbourne, Carrie Ann Moss, Hugo Weaving.
Directors: Andy & Larry Wachowski
Story: Following on from events of the first film, Neo, Morpheus and Trinity return to Zion, the last human outpost, only to learn it is under an impending threat from the machines. With only 72 hours left before an inevitable war, why is Neo having nightmares? And will he be able to unlock the secrets of the Matrix once and for all?
First things first..Reloaded isn’t a patch on its predecessor. The Matrix went from sleeper status to a cultural phenomenon quicker then you can say ‘whoa’. It’s 4 years on and the Wachowskis have had the unenviable task of living up to expectations of truly epic proportions. Well Reloaded has arrived and while it’s certainly a flawed effort, its by no means ...
Neo, Trinity and Morpheus lead a revolt against the Machine Army as it attacks Zion. Their aim is to fight against the forces of repression and exploitation in an attempt to save the human race. Zion is the last human city on Earth and in their quest they gain more information on the workings of the Matrix.
