Review:
I first watched the Matrix in the cinema about 8 years ago now and the thing that really stuck in my mind was the special effects which were mind blowing and range from people running along walls to entire walls becoming almost liquid like and allowing objects to pass through them and although these ideas are by no means new the Matrix takes them to a whole new level and makes it all look believable and completely realistic. The sound effects were also really good and added to the realism of this fantasy world being unrolled in front of your eyes and the story is by far of the most original i have seen yet. In places this film can be a little confusing and is definately one you will need to follow from start to finish else you will find yourself thinking you have missed out a large part of it and it will probably make no sense at all, That said it does have enough action throughout most of it to keep your attention although it is a little slow in the middle. I really enjoyed watching this film and over the years have found that it is one that you can watch time and time again either on its own or with its sequels. If you are a fan of either sci-fi, Kung-fu or action movies then this film is a must see for you and the perfect addition to anyones film collection!

Advantages: Perfect Action, Science Fiction and Thriller Disadvantages: Nothing
...This movie is the evolution of others hundreds action movies. Was the fist time we watch someone standing and walking on the air so long to fight. After that movie we saw the same scene in may films.
Keanu Reaves, Laurence Fishburne , Joe Pantoliano, Carrie-Anne Moss ,Hugo Weaving at their best.
Just buy the dvd of 2004 version and get the maximum resolution at High Definition TV's with in Dolby Digital 5.1 sound in widescreen format. Select the scenes that show how the slow motion scenes were filmed, I love it!!! Try watch the movie with out interruptions to make sense the scenarios.
This movie won 4 Oscars and many others awards. If you like movies with Action, Science Fiction and Thriller watch this movie as soon as possible. You will love it....

Advantages: Great Film, good acting Disadvantages: None
...Hi people,
You have just come across part three of my DVD saga. I have chosen another top film to review, which has to be the Matrix. The first time I watched this film was quite a long time ago but I have seen it over and over and not got bored. There again I am the sort of person that never gets bored of films I really adore.
This film has to be one of my all time favourite Sci-Fi films including Star Wars and Fifth Element. Being quite a recent film it is packed full of special effects being explosions and so on.
When you are watching the first part of the film you won't have a clue what is going on. Well see if you understand people disappearing in phone boxes the first time you watch this. I think this not having a clue kept me very intrigued and as the story spanned on all became obvious and made perfect sense even...

Advantages: The best movie you've EVER seen Disadvantages: NONE
..."The world is a hoax, an elaborate deception spun by the all-powerfull machines of artificial intelligence that control us.
Mind-blowing stunts, Techno-slamming visuals. Mega-kick action. Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne lead the fight to free humankind in The Matrix, the cyber thriller that you will watch again and again. Written and directed by the Wachowski brouthers, the story sears, the special effects stake out new movie-making territory - the movie leaves you breathless."
I saw The Matrix the opening night at the cinema, and later that night, both myself and the friend I saw the film with, ordered it on DVD. It's THAT good. If you haven't seen it yet, go to your local video store NOW, and either buy or rent it. The special effects are amazing. Since seeing the film I have seen many movies that have copied the style of this...

DVD Description
With THE MATRIX, the Wachowskis have established themselves as innovative filmmakers who push the boundaries of live-action films. Like the groundbreaking STAR WARS, THE MATRIX (also the first film of a trilogy) showcases a unique visual style, one the Wachowskis achieved through an array of techniques and digital effects, some never before seen in mainstream Hollywood films. Although computer morphing technology had been used before in films such as THE ABYSS and TERMINATOR 2, the Wachowskis were the first to use bullet time, a time-bending digital effect that utilizes both computer-generated imagery and still photography. The film itself is a complex story that aspires to mythology, focusing on a computer hacker named Neo (Keanu Reeves) who searches for the truth behind the mysterious force known as the Matrix. He finds his answer with a group of strangers led by the charismatic Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne). What they encounter in confronting that truth makes for a lightning-paced, eye-popping thrill ride of a movie. Packed with stunning fight scenes (choreographed by accomplished Hong Kong director Yuen Wo-Ping), astonishing visual effects, quotable lines, and a terrific supporting cast (led by Carrie-Anne Moss, in her first major Hollywood film), THE MATRIX is a bold triumph that raises the bar for all science fiction films.
