Former Marine John Triton gets kicked out of the marines for doing what was hounarable, saving fellow soliders who had been taken prisoner by an Al-Queda force. After busting in and killing the rebels in the most ellaberale and over the top way possilbe he is discharged from the marines were he is left with the job of a secruity guard. This job only lasts him 1 day were he get fired for basically beating 3 guys up in a styleish way, smashing a few windows and tables. Him and his wife Kate try to escape and go somewere so they can relax for a while with no wories but one apperently troublr free gas station turns their day on its head as a gang of diamound theifs who are unhappy with the arrival of a cop. This turns into a shooting where Johns wife is taken along with his car leaving him lmost knocked out. He goes on a chase to try and get his wife back that leads him flying off down a dliff in a car, running throught the swaps and evetually fighting with a few big muscley guys, luckley we see a few wresterling moves here, a chokeslam lthough i was exspecting the signiture FU. Eventually he gets to his wife after beinging in 3 exsplosions were he kills another gang mamber with only the leader remaining who he fights whilst the truck with his wife in sinks to the bottum of the river. But as most films go he manages to get his wife, kill the bad guy and go home happily like nothing happened.
this film is well played by John Cena, WWE Champion in the WWE and a great one at that. I\'m surprised he found the time to acctually make this film since he\'s been at the top of the WWE for so long. But many other films have been made by wrestlers and not all have been recevied well, but this is something different and for a changed a WWE star gives a great action preformance and dramtica preformance at the end. Kelly Carlson plays Johns wife well although for most of the film shes a helpless victim being slapped or dragged around by the diamound theifs. Robert Patrick played the diamound theif leader and does a easy job of a basic role and does a good job at being a ruthless jewell theif.

Advantages: Robert Patrick for about 3 seconds Disadvantages: Too many goofs & plotholes
There is nothing original about the film & the plot is pretty non-existent. Basically its a robbery that turns into a kidnapping that then devolves into a 1 man rescue job. Not much plot and almost no brain required to watch it, in fact the less brain used the less likely you are to spot all the various howling mistakes. We start with a jewellery heist that's an obvious inside job which is proved as soon as they get inside the diamond room. The fact ... ...would have been killed in the Gas Station explosion and steals a police car. He catches up with them far too quickly and there aren't enough 1-1 fights between Triton and the gang members. John Cena looks so much like Randy Orton in most of his close-ups that it may as well have been him in the film. I find it hard to believe a former Marine trained in all the things Triton lists in his cv has such a hard time trying to get a job. Basically this ...

Advantages: Absolutey laugh out loud hilarious - and it isn't even meant to be funny Disadvantages: Appaling plot, cast, everything really... but thats what makes it so brilliant
...I just had to!
The main actor is John Cena who is a WWE wrestler, the champion, or at least he has been a lot in the recent past I believe. The film is a WWE production too and frankly it doesn't take long to see that this is the case - especially since the opening credits say so...
But as for the film, well without giving away the plot. John is a marine, and just in case you weren't aware of this whilst watching the film, John makes sure to mention ... ...as a "marine". And the plot sort of 'evolves' from there.
Basically, me and my friends watched this movie because all the other movies for rent were rubbish too and we didn't regret watching this. We got some beers out and put this in the tv. Within minutes we were in hysterics.
It would appear the people behind this movie forgot to employ screenwriters - just as well really though, because they spent all the money on explosions instead. Casting ...

WWE the dominant wrestling business tries its hand at another film. Previously it had made films such as See No Evil and since The Condemned. Both featuring WWE superstars including Kane and Stone Cold Steve Austin. The Marine is no different as its main star is John Cena, who has been the top WWE superstar for the past two years.
The Marine was released on the 13th October 2006 and earned quick money.
The plot is John Triton (John Cena) is discharged ... ...casual laid back gang steel the diamonds and then get away
After a brief fight inside the building he was guarding, he and his wife Kate (Kelly Carlson) decide to go on a holiday.
They stop off a garage where at that the same time a Diamond Gang, led by Rome (Robert Patrick), also stop. An incident occurs at the station where Triton gets knocked out and shooting starts between a passing police car and the Gang. To escape the Gang steal Triton's ...

Advantages: Robert Patrick Disadvantages: The film in general, direction, script and acting
Over the years the cross over between WWE and the movie world seems to be becoming a more regular occurrence. First up there was Hulk Hogan, then The Rock tried his hand and more recently Triple H appeared in Blade Trinity. Now it seems Vince McMahon and the WWE producers have decided that John Cena should be their next marketing toy in the movie world. So with this in mind Cena, a current world Champion in the wrestling world, hit the movie screens or should that be the DVD racks in The Marine.
When John Triton (John Cena) is unwillingly discharged from the Marine?s after disobeying orders in Iraq he doesn?t know what to do with himself. Having tried his hand at security and lasting just a day he then decides, along with his wife (Kelly Carlson) to take a trip across country. When they stop at a petrol station it all goes wrong when ...
Advantages: An intensive workout that will definately burn the calories! Disadvantages: Definately NOT for beginners
This DVD came about because it was Nell McAndrews favourite fitness class that she attended and she loved it so much she asked the trainer to make a DVD.
When you are doing this DVD you feel very much like you are training for the marines! It is set in an aircraft hanger with the trainer bellowing out instructions and a pumping soundrack. It is definately not your airy-fairy Rosemary Connely workout with pop music and aerobics outfits. By the end of the video the people in it, even Nell herself are visibly struggling and you can almost smell the sweat coming through the television screen!!
If you love a really hard workout which gives you pain and tests your endurance then you will love this DVD. However, if its a bit of light stretching you're after this is definately NOT the right workout for you. I can honestly say that ...
Advantages: Great film Disadvantages: SOme scenes are boring
Aliens on DVD is fantastic. I've been a fan of this film out of the 4 films made because of its pure action packed nature and it keeps you glued right up to the edge of your seat.
The advantages of this DVD is that there are extra minutes which were cut out of the original release. Some of these extra scenes are a complete waste of time such as Ripley chatting to Burke before the mission. But some of them really help to set the scene and add to the tention.
The animated scene access controls are one of the best things about this DVD too. Its like you are comanding a group of colonial marines around as you select what you want to do.
This DVD is like all DVD's should be, extra scenes not added to the original prodution, photo galaries, behind the scenes documentary. FANTASTIC - the Dolby suround sound in this feature is ...

Fast pacing and generous doses of humor (Hollywood Reporter, 04/04/2007)
DVD Description
John Cena of the WWE stars in this brawler of a film as John Triton, a marine who is discharged after he disobeys orders while rescuing prisoners in Iraq. Now he's back home in South Carolina with his wife, Kate (Kelly Carlson), and an unfulfilling security job. Meanwhile, a gang of colourfully violent jewel thieves knock over a diamond business and blow a police car 30 feet in the air while making their getaway. John and Kate are driving out in their SUV for a weekend in the mountains and wind up at the same gas station as the robbers. Shots are fired, the fuel tanks explode, and the bad guys hightail it out of there--with Kate as a hostage. Triton must now use his formidable marine training to track the bad guys via car chase, boat chase, and knife-in-hand swamp-stalking. Despite the rampant violence, this is suitable for the WWE fanbase, as it downplays the blood and death and ups the quotient of sucker punches, throwing guys through walls, and leaping away from fireball explosions in slow motion. Robert Patrick plays the lead bad guy, shrugging off wry in-jokes about his role in TERMINATOR 2 while he shoots witnesses. Abigail Bianca is the evil girl in the gang--she and Kate get to have a fight of their own before it's all over. Fortunately Cena manages to hold his own onscreen amid the amusing dialogue and flying fists, making for a satisfying addition to the ranks of action heroes.
