Roger Moore set some high standards in his first film 'Live and let die'. His second one would have to follow the same path- and it very well did. This is not all of Bond's worries though, as Bond has been marked for death- by the notorious villain- the Man with the golden gun, Scaramanga. This, though, turns out to be false, as Scaramnaga's lover, Andrea Anders set's up the two- in hope of bond killing her lover and setting her free.

Bond has finally met his match- Francisco Scaramanga. The man with the golden gun can kill any man with one single bullet enough to make even James Bond shiver. In the exciting finale, Scaramanga challenges Bond to a duel. Bond's gun VS his. Scaramanga escapes and leads Bond through his funhouse. In this house, though, is conveniently a statue of Bond. Bond imposes as the statue, and delivers a fatal blow to his hapless rival!
A mixture of evil and good, women, cars and action. Put in a pot and mixed well, and out comes another classic Bond film. Nick Nack and Scaramanga worked very well as an evil team, only to have their efforts dismissed by Bond- not without a fight though. A couple of luscious women and some flash cars just top of the film. Roger Moore has really made Bond a new man. Mankind the Bond series even more popular and richer. Another highly recommended film. I give this one a 9 out of 10. Bond fans- don’t miss it!
Advantages: Short running time, very funny theme tune Disadvantages: Guy Hamilton made Goldfinger, this is NOT Goldfinger
...such a dire Bond film. The real pits, bottom of the barrel, I WANT TO SWEAR!
Unwisely rushed into production to force home the image of Moore as Bond, this lacklustre tale is lacking in everything that makes Bond so special. As was the norm by now, the main elements of the book were discarded, although by a strange conincedence the book is pretty awful stuff too, cobbled together after Flemings' death with none of the polish that he would have inevitably ... ...it firmly in the early 1970's and the power crisis that was preventing housewives from watching Coronation Street. A wonder piece of electronics is up for sale to the highest bidder, but the owner is assasinated and the chip/cheap perspex looking prop falls into the hands of Christopher Lee's Scaramanga. Scaramanga is the 'Man' of the title, who charges a million a kill, and who has 007 in his sights too. In fact, most of the films content is revealed ...

Advantages: Another slice of Bond Disadvantages: VERY dated
Despite being a Bond, despite the big budget, and despite having all of the familair trappings, The Man With The Golden Gun looks decidedly low budget. But why? It's got the gadgets, it's got the girls, it's got a credible bad guy - so why doesn't it work?
Roger Moore's second outing as Bond has dated VERY badly. The fuel crisis storyline is totally out of place nowadays and isn't particularly strong to start with. The use of the Queen Elizabeth ... ...even have retro chic.
The cast has the usual characters (Q, M, etc.) and we have a better than average villain in Christopher Lee's Scaramanga. Nic Nac is an interesting concept but the creators head strictly for the comedy side of things and once again we have to suffer a midget actress being accompanied by a bassoon soundtrack (they always are - trust me). Eckland looks pretty but is unrealistic as ditsy Miss Goodnight (a terrible name for a terrible ...

Advantages: Great storyline with one of Rogers best performances Disadvantages: Can't think of any
Following the success of Roger Moores fisrt james Bond film "Live and let die" he was getting established in the role, not an easy thing after taking over from Sean Connery. The public was quickly warming to Roger as the new Bond.
"The man with the golden gun" was rogers second Bond film, made in 1974 at Pinewood studios and filmed in locations of Hong Kong and of course here in Britain.
The casting for the roles was done pretty quick as Christopher ... ...his character "Scaramanga" was just the right part for him to play.
Also a welcome return was given to Clifton james who plays "JW Pepper" whom the audience loved from his part in "Live and let Die" His character is highly amusing as the Louisiana state policeman.
Also amongst the cast was Britt Ekland as "Mary Goodnight" who was another agent helping out Bond. The small henchman "Nick Nack" was played by "Herve Villechaize" and you cannot now ...

Advantages: Oldie but goodie, Disadvantages: Not one of Rogers best
...spry enough to pull offf the suaveness needed to play Bond.
The plot has been summed up in by epinions already, so I'll only touch on it briefly. The Man With the Golden Gun is a famous hit man who has decided Bond is his next hit. While working on a missing person's case, Bond discovers that Scarramanga, the hit man is involved. Scarramanga has a Solex device that attached to his plant at his Hong Kong Lair, allows his to store enough solar energy ... ...to kill all rivals.
The plot is typical Bond, almost impossible to understand, and if you scratch it some, it is probably stupid. This movie is good for Bond fans because their are good action scenes and Moore has fun with his role. In a memorable line, the agent Good Night, who has rebuffed Bond, enters Bond's room in lingerie, and she says "My hard to get act didn't last very long, did it?"
After watching this flick, you will have a good night. ...

Advantages: Christopher Lee and Nick Nack. Disadvantages: Most else
The worst Bond film made. Period. The soundtrack is awful. Full stop.
The acting is terrible. Excalmation mark! The only good acting is from the two baddies, Scaramanger, (the best baddie in ages) and Nick Nack. The Bond women are stereotypical women (no offence, just critising the film) and the plot is a bit shaky.
Apart from that its pretty good. Christopher Lee steals the show as a charimatic Scaramanger, and the bits with him in are by far ...

Advantages: Christopher Lee and Roger Moore are great adversaries Disadvantages: Comc handling of a sensitive subject - energy crisis
Following the success of Live And Let Die, Roger Moore takes up the role of MI6 special agent James Bond for the second time in The Man With The GoldenGun, with Hollywood heavy and horror legend Christopher Lee taking up the role of the villain, Scaramunga. Guy Hamilton takes the director's seat for the final time in a Bond film, but this time causing controversy with the topic of the film clashing with the energy crisis in Britain in 1973.
The Plot
Bond is led to believe that he has been targeted by one of the world's most deadly assassins, Scaramunga, reclusive killer with a distinctive feature in that he has a third nipple. At the same time, a device has come on the black market, a device that can be used to harness the sun's power to avert the energy crisis. Bond goes in search of the device and Scaramunga, anxious to avoid ...
Advantages: A colourful romp Disadvantages: Lacks a bit of scope
lacks the scope of some other films in the series and is saddled with a topical plot device which dates it somewhat, but The Man With The GoldenGun is a colourful and likeable enough addition to the series and has a certain amount going for it.
The film has a strange pre-credit sequence that is very interesting because it is so strange. A stereotypical Mafia type character arrives on Scaramanga's private Island in the Far East. He appears to have ben hired by Scaramanga's diminutive manservant Nick Nack to kill his boss, but all is not what it seems. The Hitman is there to give Scaramanga a bit of target practice in his funfair style 'Hall Of Mirrors'. The bright colours and visuals in these scenes look great on DVD. It's all very strange and entertaining although for the second film in a row Bond doesn't really feature in the PTS ...
Advantages: Digitally Enchanced Picture and Soundtrack Disadvantages: Not enough interesting new extra's.
