Price: £4.99
Place of Purchase: Blockbuster
Certificate: 18
Lanuage: Japanese
Subtitles: Yes - English
Running time: Almost 2 hours

Bought by one of our housemates who absolutely adores anything japanese, manga or oriental this is a japanese movie with english subtitles. We were made to watch this DVD he single handedly picked out from our local blockbuster video store (quite possibly the sale bin, however i never asked). I really regret agreeing to watch it now, however i was drawn in my the fact that he had bought us all 'cinema sweet' popcorn and two tubs of our favourite flavour Ben and Jerry's to accompany it.

I am writing this review, a scared woman who lost 40 minutes of her life to this film, and only doing so to warn others who may be curious or attracted to it's mysterious title 'the lost virgin'. Soundingly innocent, trust me, it is not. Not one little bit!
And I know it might be considered quite controversal act to write a review on a flim I didn't even see all the way through. But I do feel I saw enough! - As soon as the BJ's phish food ran out I took a 'toliet' trip and never returned to the couch.
I'm guessing the 'movie' was about 2 hours long as thats how long Gavin was in the longue for. Us girls has slowly diffused away and off to each of our rooms to allow him to 'enjoy' by himself.

Okay more on the DVD, there mentioned some extra features when we first went to the main menu, however i've a feeling these might just be still porno pics, trailers for the movie and behind the sceens footage.
The movie is fimed of Japanese people and so the whole script is japanese (although theres no much talking, if you follow..) Theres subtitles written in white writting through out and doesnt last very long on the screen so most of the time is spent trying to read the sentences rather than whats going on.
The storyline is really weak, it's based on a young woman who sleeps with a man when she was 18. This man she loses her virginity to enters her life again in 5 years time, having not seen each other since they hook up again to attempt a romantic relationship. Things don't appear to be going well and she does'nt seem to recognise him, she thinks 'he's changed' and she starts to regret what happened when she was 18.
How it finishes i'm not sure, but there is not much to it. It's very, VERY graphic and I would probably argue the certification should be much higher, perhaps 25.

Overall a 3 star rating, for those shallow individuals who actually enjoy this sort of thing, it's great but you won't be able to read very much of the storyline and it's a cheap DVD. However I'm much more of a comedy fan and would happily watch 'nemo' or 'my big fat greek wedding' over this an day!
