TRILOGY On the first part which is The fellowship of the ring. The story began when the Elven Smith created the ring of power to rule the world but the Dark Lord Sauron forged and created a ring to rule them all. The ring was then lost in many years and lay to the hands of Bilbo Baggins who is Frodo's uncle. It was then went to Frodo's possesion ,a hobbit from the shire. Gandalf the grey have discovered the powerful ring and advised Frodo to take it away from the shire. Together with his friends , Sam, Merry and Pippin. They were able to take it to Rivendell, and from there, they formed the fellowship of the ring which consist of men, hobbits, dwarf, elf and gandalf the wizard. The fellowship is bound to protect Frodo and guide him to mount doom to destroy the one ring of Sauron. Sarumon an old fried of Gandalf have tried everything for them not to succeed. Together they face the trials and fight side by side.
On the second part which is The Two Towers, the fellowship was divided . Sam and Frodo travelled on their own and found a guide named Gollum, who used to have the ring. While Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli searched for the hobbit, Merry and Pippin. Along the way, they met Gandalf who have returned as gandalf the white. The fellowship continue their quest and help the people of Rohan to win the battle against Sarumon and his army.
The last part of the trilogy is the Return Of The King. Gandalf managed to lead Gondor's army with the help of King Theoden of Rohan. Though they were outnumbered, Aragorn faced the soul of traitors who were cursed by the King of Gondor. He asked them to fight for him in exchange for their freedom. Finally the middle earth war has ended and they win the battle. But still Frodo haven't reach the mountain of doom. Aragorn decided to take his army to black gate to distract Sauron's Eye. With the help of Sam , Frodo have destroyed the One ring.
CONCLUSION I still remember the first time I've seen this film on the bigscreen, I can't wait to have my own copy on DVD. I have found my favourite film of all time! I can watch it over and over again and i won't get bored, every time i watch it i always feel the intense and the quality of perfection done by extended version of Peter Jackson, complete epic big screen adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien Lord Of The Rings Trilogy. The amount of material, effort, creativity and design are mind blowing. It has a 12 disc including the making and other special features that you will definitely appreciate. Even if your not a fan of fantasy or adventure film , this is really worth having for. I am glad to own one and was able to watch it with my children and i still plan to do it as well with my grandchildren, because i don't want them to miss the most memorable film of our time, that's how good it is in my point of view. I am a true fan so anyone who have hesitations of getting this trilogy box set, don't be because it is definitely the best DVD box set collection you could ever own.

Advantages: Everything--virtually perfect in every way Disadvantages: it had to end :(
...guess a good place is the beginning. Unless you've lived under a rock the past 6 or 7 years (or even the past 40 years), you know the basic story of The Lord of the Rings: Frodo and his hobbit friends team up with elves, dwarfs, men, and a wizard to bring the evil One Ring to Mount Doom so it can be destroyed. Seems simple enough, right? Well, you should know better, especially considering this entire trilogy runs about 12+ hours long--there's a ... ...is also about all of the individuals involved. They are all extremely well-developed characters with compelling stories of their own. Middle Earth seems like it is within our grasp while we watch the characters struggle through their quests. We are all right there with them, through each difficult moment. They were all such terribly good actors.
This is the kind of movie that will never leave you. When it is over and the credits begin to scroll ...

Advantages: best trilogy ever made Disadvantages: it only has 3 movies
The best trilogy ever made according to me. The lord of the rings is a fantastic achievement by Peter Jackson, the actors and all the movie crew. This box set gives you a complete set of all the movies in perfect condition. These three action packed films tell the household story of frodo baggins and his quest to mordor to destroy the one ring. The story is fascinating and intersting and has amazing special effects throughout. Peter Jackons own love ... ...wrong, with 'The Return of THe King' being in the top 10 movies of all time by IMDB.

...saw all three films at the cinema I was blown away by the cinematography and sound. I thought it would be difficult to transfer this to the small screen. I was wrong.
Providing you have at least a 28inch TV with even the most basic surround sound system in your home you will still see, hear and feel the size of this trilogy.
The battle scenes are incredible especially in the Return of the King and the acting is amazing. The cast selection is excellant ... ...to start with but by the 2nd part of the trilogy he settled into the role.
There are many famous faces in this series, Sean Bean, Liv Tyler, Orlando Bloom amongst them.
The story is of a world now at relative peace but historically it had been a world at war and a battle between good and evil. The evil warlord had ruled using a magic ring but was eventually slayed in a huge battle many generations before our story starts but his ring survived.
