So Gandalf and Boromir have gone and the fellowship has been seperated and each group must carry on with their own mission:

They have been captured by the orcs believing them to be in possession of the ring and have orders from Saruman to bring them to him. As they are bound and carried on the back of Sarumans crossbreed of Orcs, who can not only run during darkness but also in sunlight, all hope seems lost. A chance encounter with the Men of Rohan, the other strong hold of men, allows them to escape and they head into Fangorn Forest where they meet an ally in the unlikley form of Treebeard the Ent, Fangorn Forest also has some other surprises along the way....

The same as the first film in that no songs are remarkable but all fit in perfectly with the visuals in front of you and themes from the first film are built upon.

Overall:
I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first but then I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first! for those who have read and loved the books be prepared again for some deviations int he plot, however, watch the documentary explaining the reasons and all starts to become a bit clearer!
Make sure you have watched the first film before this one and definitly worth watching as part of the whole trilogy experience!

Advantages: still as epic in scope and visuals, great acting, final battle is atmospheric and affecting, extra footage fleshes the story out nicely Disadvantages: I still didn't find it quite as magical as the first
