King of the B's director Roger Corman shot this crazy beat-era classic in a mere two days, but it packs plenty of inspired lunacy and clever bits in its 70-minute running time....
more...Jonathan Haze stars as clumsy assistant florist Seymour, who saves his job in Mr. Mushnik's skid-row flower shop when he brings in a unique man-eating plant. The problem is, it's a very hungry plant--every night it opens its huge jaws and demands to be fed, forcing poor Seymour to take to the street in search of victims lest he disappoint his boss and his adoring girlfriend Audrey (Jackie Joseph). From a zingy script by Charles Griffith, this hilarious black comedy overflows with great ideas and characters: Corman regular Dick Miller plays a hipster who eats flowers, and a very young Jack Nicholson takes a memorable turn as a masochistic dental patient. DRAGNET-style detective Joe Fink (Wally Campo) narrates as he slowly begins to track the killer down. This oft-revived favourite still generates plenty of laughs and chills, deserving of repeat viewings.

40 years are now gone, and this comedy is still on sale, the comedy itself is far away more developed that it's year of release, although this movie can only attract just two types of audiences: 1: Crazy comedies' fans or 2: Fans which seen this comedy of it's year of release.
Firstly, this film is not the one which calls itself a comedy and makes you sleep at the lunch time, "Little Shop of Horrors" really makes you laugh, doesn't matter who or how old are you, you always going to find a moment in this comedy which would gain your interest.

Story starts as a plant grows and step-by-step requires more and more victims to feed it, the story tells a real- life situations as in 1960's funniest form available, when the person gets a lot, he always wants more...

Actors are trying to perform at their best, especially i seen the great performance on the main characters (starring Jonathan Haze and Jack Nicholson), although their emotions are certainly unreal and film has made some clear errors. Audio and voice quality are great as for old-age black and white movie.

This classic "horror" comedy is for you if you are bored black comedy fan with rainy weather outside in darkness alone at home, replace the Scary Movie for once...

The latest DVD release comes in colour, it is stated PG as for a little violence, but commented as only few scenes contains it, so can be accepted by the general public. Movie is directed by his own time black comedies maestro Roger Corman. No additional features are included, although as in any DVD selection of scenes is available.
