Will heaven be just like Swansea

Advantages: very funny
Disadvantages: none

...BF to see what all the fuss was about, I really didn’t think it was my “cup of tea”. Anyway I ended up watching all 6 episodes.

It is actually very funny (my BF was shocked to hear me say that), silly, sick and warped but very funny.

I liked it so much that I bought the first series from amazon for £14.00.

Series 3 should be crap but it isnt...oddly.

Advantages: Groundbreakingly important.
Disadvantages: William Blake also had his critics.

By far the most daring of any previous material offered by this extraordinarily fine set of actors, comedians and writers, The League of Gentleman's third series is at last offending people in all reputable Uk entertainment outlets this X-mas. The six new episodes see the League move from the format of exclusive (sometimes vaguely linked) sketches to an impressively full blown interlinking and incredibly complicated television series (funky sound ...
...up with should not work- the ideas are extremely difficult to follow, the humour has turned into something darker than very black and virtually every character that made up the legendary second series has been killed off. But it does...oddly. Strange and its been annoying me to the extent of genuinely having to sit down and think. So perhaps it is the incredibly interesting way it is oxymoronically put together. A suitable visual metaphor for their ...

you'll have no trouble here

Advantages: very funny, great commentary
Disadvantages: none

Let me start by saying the League Of Gentleman dvd isn't a boxset, it's just one dvd that features the first series. The League of Gentleman can best be describes as Deliverance meets Emmerdale. It's one of the most bizarre and surreal comedies you'll ever come across. Set in the remote village of Royston Vasey you follow the antics of some the weird, troubled and strange folk that live in the village. The local shop is sat on a hill overlooking ...
...and Tubbs with the motto "this is a local shop-for local people-we'll have no trouble here!" They don't like outsiders and anybody who goes in doesn't seem to come out. Then there's Pauline, the very nasty restart officer for the job centre. She loves pens and doesn't mind telling the un-employed in her group that there is no hope. She tells them about selling the Big Issue "It's kind of like Bunty-but for tramps!". She is constantly at odds with ...

...be seen as one of the great British comedies in years to come. Joining its forebearers such as Monty Python, Bottom, The Young Ones and of Course the Fast Show. Personally I love The League of Gentlemen, but there are those who don;t like it at all. How STRANGE...... ...comedies but all live in the sae warped and hilarious world. All the characters live in a town called Roysten Vassey, a quite little town in the middle of knowhere (the type of place that is underneath the staple in the A-Z Road map). A place that seems normal to all that live there but any visitor will soon find the need to visit a mental institution. My favourite character group have to be Tubs and Edward. These two who form the lovely old couple ...

The League of Gentlemen Live at Drury Lane

Advantages: An excellent piece of live comedy, the live show is much better than the TV series
Disadvantages: The dark humour might not appeal to all tastes

...DVD to be in on the jokes colleagues at work were making after having watched the show themselves. I had already seen the show on television and found it to be quite funny but not a real side splitter. If you haven’t seen the League of Gentlemen before, it is basically a dark comedy starring sordid and troubled characters. The DVD cost about £20 from HMV and is just over one and a half hours in length. The show is performed by the cast of Mark Gatiss, ...
...many different characters. I found the cast to be so talented that I actually believed they were the characters, even in the situations where they dress up as women. All of the show takes place in front of a live audience. The show is divided into two parts, the first part involves the cast dressed up in tuxedos and acting out certain sketches, whereas in the second part the cast are dressed up in full costume. Certain sketches I enjoyed in the ...

And the delete key. Yay. The League of Gentlemen. I didn't get into it at first. I don't remember why. I don't even remember the first time I watched it. But I am a FAN. Welcome to Royston Vasey, You'll Never Leave...

Advantages: Very Funny, Unique and All in One Box, Lots of Extras
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

Welcome to Royston Vasey and The League of Gentlemen, you'll never leave. The League of gentlemen are Jeremy Dyson, Steve Pemberton, Mark Gatiss and Reece Shearsmith, who after becoming friends when they all attended Bretton Hall Drama College, got together to do a comedy stage show, winning the Perrier award at the Edinburgh Festival, then going on to Radio scooping the Sony Silver Award and then a Talkie Award for best audio comedy. This was all before bringing their wonderfully dark humorous show to the small screen in early 1999, making three series, a Christmas special, live show and finally a movie on the silver screen in 2005. The box set comprises of six discs, and comes in a book like case, which is covered in a sleeve. On the six discs there are all three series ...

The League of Gentlemen - The Complete Collection

Advantages: Dark and creeeeepy, yet unbelivably funny!
Disadvantages: Series 3. Pointless.

Welcome to the quaint little town of Royston Vasey. "You'll never leave!" This small town holds many many creepy secrets, a butcher who deals in "specialised meats" (have a guess), The strange hygiene-obcessed Denton familly *cough*toads*cough* and obviously not forgetting (belive me I'v tried!) the evil secrets of the deep dark lurking gloom of.... THE LOCAL SHOP! Series 1 starts with Ben Denton on the train traveling to Royston Vasey to stay with his Aunt and Uncle... if only he knew what I do now. From the unconvincing transvestite soon-to-be transexual cab driver nameb Babs, to Dr. Chinnery the poor poor man, cursed to severely awful vetinary practise, he kills every animal he gets his hands on in its own imaginative and cringing way. This show isnt for the weak stomached, or easilly offended, or ANY ...
