I think that this film is amazing its by far one of the greatest action adventure films for a while.
The film starts off by them setting up a group of people to start a league of extraordinary gentlemen by some one called M he is in the secret services for the queen. They get a great team which consists of..... Allan Quatermain who is played by Sean Connery, Captain Nemo played by naseeruddin shah (this guy is amazing) Mina Harker played by Peta Wilson aka Dracula’s bride, Rodney Skinner played by Tony Curran, Dorian Gray played by Stuart Townsend, Tom Sawyer played by Shane west and last but not least Dr. Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde Jason Flemyng. There are the members of the league and they all have their own unique powers which do really kick ass.
Now firstly Allan Quatermain he is an expert marksman not just expert he could kill someone without a scope from 400+ yards and has done many great things. then there is captain Nemo now I just want to say OMG this guy is a pirate he has a kick ass sub/ship now this guy isn’t just cool because of all his cool gadgets but his religions and stuff make him even more interesting, he wont use a gun.(even though I’m sure he uses one) I’m not sure but he says he walks another path meaning hand to hand as there is no honour in using a gun. Even thought he doesn’t have a gun but he kicks ass he is better than every action hero rolled into one he is soo cool. Then there is Mina Harker she is a vampire but they don’t find out till a bit later on which is funny as they protect her as they see her as weak. Which she isn’t she is so cool. It’s great to see females play action roles in kicking ass as they can play them better than males most of the time. Rodney Skinner now if you don’t remember this name then maybe this will make you know who I’m on about he is called the invisible man, now this guy is a villain he has done a lot of bad things in the past which make him look like a bad guy. He is the funny guy in the film the one that brings the comedy into it. Dorian Gray this is the person that has a picture of himself. He is immortal he doesn’t age but as he doesn’t age his picture ages. Just glancing at the picture would kill him; he is a funny looking person you have to be careful with him. Tom Sawyer this is no special guy really it’s just someone the Americans sent over from some help he is a ok marksman. And in last place is Dr. Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde now some of you may know him, probably all of you will it’s the Dr who drinks a potion and he turns into a beast like thing. He is really cool he helps people as he learns a bit more how to control the beast inside him. now the thing that has pissed me off about him is that every time I see the hulk I always think of Dr. Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde as he was the original and the hulk is just basically a copy off this guy and he is the greatest no one can beat an original.
Now don’t worry you get to see everyone’s powers fairly soon into the film as they get attacked when they are in someone’s home and every one uses their powers to kill people. the story is basically about the making of a league to stop a menace from creating really powerful weapons and starting a war against each other so after it he can just go in their and pick them all off.
i think the film is really well done there is a lot of action in this film its loaded with really cool fight scenes and comedy in it. Now for a lot of action films it’s hard to put comedy in it because it makes it look bad but they have really done it well on this film.
the special effects are great the sub/ship that looks like a massive sword looks amazing and there is a lot of stuff that looks really which makes the film even better its a great film which most people will enjoy
