Advantages: a sweet story, and funny script Disadvantages: sometimes feel we've seen this before
...If you like Syal's other work (Goodness Gracious Me, Kumars at number42 etc...) then there's a good chance you'll enjoy Anita and Me, which tells the story of a young Asian girl growing up in 1970s Birmingham. The humour is typical of Syal's work - comedy about cultural differences encountered by Asians living in Britain; which I like, but kind of think we've seen before (proud indian fathers, huge asian families have all appeared in Syal's previous work, as in this film)
The film was based on Meera's first novel Anita and Me, and as with most novels-turned-screenplays, the film doesn't really do justice to the book. That said, I would still be interested to see the film adaptation of the sequel to Anita and Me; 'Life isn't all ha ha hee hee'.
Overall an enjoyable film, but nothing really new....

...on a mission to find more weed and a White Castle and have a number of adventures on the way, such as; A visit to Princeton University, an unexpected trek in the woods, an attack by a racoon, a visit to the hospital and loads more!! Lots of twists and turns before they finally make it to White Castle.
Characters and Cast
************************
The main characters in this film are Harold Lee, played by John Cho, and Kumar Patel, played by Kal Penn.
John Cho is the Korean kid in the first 3 American Pie Movies
Kal Penn starred in Van Wilder: Party Liaison Officer
The rest of the cast do not have an awful lot of input into the film, it really is mainly based around Harold and Kumar but there may be faces you recognise along the way, especially Neil Patrick Harris.

Advantages: Hysterical Disadvantages: Not for the light hearted.
...THE BEST LAUGH I'VE HAD IN AGES!
I reccomend this DVD if you're a fan of films such as American Pie or Eurotrip. Harold is an uptight investment banker whereas Kumar is an easygoing but intelligent unemployed stoner whos father wants him to go to medical school. One night, the two of them get high and decide to go to White Castle. During this trip they come across some interesting situations. The movie is an little unrealistic but is still seriously worth a watch as the storyline is completely origional and the picture quality is exceptional. I personally enjoyed the part of the movie where their car breaks down and they meet Freakshow. He tells them to make themselves at home and F**k his wife....
