Jeremy Clarkson, the opinionated motoring journalist, has something to say on just about ... more
everything, not just cars, in this collection of his columns from both Top Gear Magazine and The Sunday Times.Whether you love or loathe him, Born to be Riled makes for an entertaining and lively read as Clarkson vents his anger and frustration at, among other things, Sunday drivers, caravans and politicians. Even places are not safe from his poisonous tongue, with Surrey, Birmingham and Norfolk being on the receiving end of some particularly venomous rants. Clarkson's views on cars and motoring make for interesting reading but do tend to speak to the more initiated enthusiast than the casual driver and analogies and comparisons are often lost on all but the most technically minded car fanatic. However, Clarkson writes with joyous wit and even when his arguments seem a little shaky, you can't help but find yourself nodding in agreement or realising that he is riled by all the things in life that you are--being stuck behind a caravan on a country back road or the drink-driving laws in this country. In much the same way as Bill Bryson chronicles life's daily woes and pitfalls with a scathing sense of humour, so Clarkson speaks for a silent majority who are secretly incensed by a million and one things everyday of their lives, but are just a little too British to say anything. In this book, Clarkson has become the common man's champion and when he is fighting for the cause with this much humour and wit, long may he remain in that position. --Jonathan Weir

Advantages: If you love JC, You'll like Heaven & Hell. Disadvantages: A bit like previous videos
This one was received as a present.
I'm not that mad about cars, but I always love what JC has to say about them. If a useless car is trashed during the proceedings, then so much the better !
This DVD follows in the footsteps of previous examples and for me doesn't really break new ground. It is humerous and entertaining. The trouble is,that you already know what to expect.
I feel that I could watch this one many times over and still enjoy it, my only criticism, is that the format is a little familiar although it still manages to be entertaining, I felt a slight sense of Deja Vu when watching.
Without giving the plot away , there's plenty of high revs, smoking tyres and sideways tail drifting action, to keep all but the most cynical entertained.
Accompanied by liberal doses of Clarkson's dry humour and brutality to ...
Advantages: fun to read, rather intresting Disadvantages: nothing
jeremyclarkson has a very unique style of pointing his viiews across. He will use foul and bad mouthed language, accompanied with his humour to make a very unintresting topic, intresting.
Along eith this you find yourself falling prey to clarksons charm and humour.
This is the sequel to the sunday times bestseller "The world according to clarkson".
The book contains over 80 plus mini-topics that he talks about, ranging from life of obese people, useage of technology, politics and celebrities,e.t.c..
He critises many people, the beckhams were first on his list as he called the fools for their names and dodgy tatoos.
On another positive hand he targeted the americs consecutively for everything they did right and wrong, Hurray for jeremyclarkson.
He practically verbally tortures them for being fat and copying british ideas.
I ...
Advantages: Very good book to take on holiday or business travel Disadvantages: It gets slightly repetative due to Jeremy Clarksons style of writing
If you like to read books that get you ruffled, that can make you think..."god I know what he means" then this is a book for you. Throughout the book Jeremy voices his concerns over many of life's eccentricities and pointless activities. He pokes fun at cricket, America and strangely Ibiza.
It's great for holidays and business travel as each chapter is a rant in its own right. The book relies on Clarkson's TV style of delivery for funnies. If you like him on the box, you will like him on the page as well. Very enjoyable, easy to pick up and put down whenever you fancy a giggle at someone or something else's expense.
My copy survived blistering heat whislt on holiday but there was no warping or loosening of the sheets, for holiday reads this is important - Could Clarkson have been involved in build quality of the book? ...
