I don't read Tom Clancy, but I love action movies and Harrison Ford, which have lead me to watch all four of these movies.

*The Hunt For Red October*

Sean Connery plays a Russian who has a Soviet nuclear sub heading for the US. The Government think he is going to attack but Jack Ryan (Alec Baldwin) thinks he wants to defect. Jack has a couple of hours to prove his theory before the US Government find the 'Red October' and blow it up.

Sean Connery is brilliant as usual but I found The Hunt for Red October very slow to start with, although it got exciting towards the end.

*Patriot Games*

Patriot Games had me hooked from start to finish. It starts in England where Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford) gets caught up in a terrorist attack as he meets his family. It's then a race to stop the terrorist whose brother he killed from killing his family. Non-stop action and suspense.

*Clear and Present Danger*

Clear and Present Danger had me hooked from start to finish (although slightly complicated storyline). Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford) is appointed acting CIA Deputy Director of Intelligence aqnd heads off to Colombia to investigate the murder of one of the President's friends. This film is full of action and cover ups.

*The Sum Of All Fears*

I found The Sum of All Fears very action packed but very confusing. I think it is set before the Hunt for Red October. I'm still not really sure what it was about except for Russia and terrorists (I think I made need to sit down and watch it again).
Morgan Freeman was his usual brilliant self in it and Ben Affleck played Jack Ryan.

*Summary*

I found it hard to relate to the character of Jack Ryan in Hunt for Red October and Sum of All Fears as he was being played by Alec Baldwin and Ben Affleck, and I had got use to him being depicted by Harrison Ford, Patriot Games was the first film I saw.

I would definately recommend this box set for Patriot Games, Clear & Present Danger and all Harrison Ford fans.

If you like to get special features and extras on your dvds then I would reccommend that you buy the Special Edition Box Set.
