DVD Description
In this action thriller from director Michael Bay ('Pearl Harbour', 'Armageddon'), survivors of global contamination live in a sterile, self-contained world where their every move is monitored. The rules are easy: be pleasant, refrain from asking questions, and don't rock the boat. Everything they need is provided for them, from the white uniforms that magically appear in their closets, to their customized cafeteria-style meals. The survivors all eagerly await their big payoff: winning the lottery and being sent to The Island, the only remaining untainted land in the world. But Lincoln Six-Echo (Ewan McGregor) yearns for more from his life and begins to wonder what really lies outside the thick walls. When his best friend, Jordan Two-Delta (Scarlett Johansson), wins the lottery, he knows that he has to find out the truth about their world before she departs. What he finds is terrifying enough to send Lincoln and Jordan fleeing from the facility to the real world where they quickly discover that they are clones, and that both The Island and global contamination are a ruse. The clones sole purpose is to be harvested for replacement parts when their sponsors need them. With his business now in jeopardy, Dr. Merrick (Sean Bean), the founder of the cloning company, hires a crack team led by Albert Laurent (Djimon Hounsou) to track down his escaped product. Wild chase scenes through Los Angeles circa 2050 are punctuated by high-tech transportation as Lincoln and Jordan run for their lives and try to assimilate into a world that is completely foreign to them. The futuristic set design and visual effects are particularly impressive. McGregor and Johansson both expertly communicate the human element and desire for life that has developed in the two clones, while still finding humour and awe in their childlike naivety.
Advantages: cute characters, good story, good songs too Disadvantages: is one in a series, ali isn't all that hot
...whilst they leave the Great Valley and Littlefoot and his friends decide to take matters in their own hands by crossing the "big water" to an unknown island. At the Big water they encounter an old friend from The Land Before Time DVD number 2, he's called Chomper, the tiny friendly T-rex. Chomper has to protect the gang from his own carnivorous parents, which adds tension to the storyline as they have some really close calls! Plenty of drama in this one, you're sure to enjoy as we all did :)
Some fantastic songs, although the graphics and cartoons are pretty much the same as the old style t.v. and video issues. It depends if you prefer this look, although I personally think they could have digitally remastered it a bit more. Of course not to the extent of finding nemo, but perhaps a nice intermediate.
Overall a 4 star rating, although...

...Father Ted Series 1 DVD Review
Father Ted, many of you will instantly know who I am talking about, and although his famous exploits on the famous channel 4 sitcom are well known, I’ll still explain a little back ground on the series.
Father Ted is not like most priests. Instead of living in a little village, and living the simple life teaching the tales from the good book, Father Ted leaves on a small Irish island known as “Craggy Island” (its as bad as it sounds). He lives with 2 other priests an obscene alcoholic and a clueless idiot, as well as a pestering house keeper.
In this island he is kept on his toes by all kind of nonsense, which keeps the comedy moments very fresh and watchable.
The first series of the sitcom originally aired in 1995 (in what I think was the start of the comedy revolution, as in my opinion...

..."Father Ted Crilly dreams of a parish in Las Vegas and a life free from embarrassment. But in the meantime he is also trying to remain sane on Craggy Island, and try to find maybe an hour free of embarrassment."
If you read my Top Ten Sitcoms reviews of a couple of months ago, you'll know that Father Ted was in my chart. As far as I'm concerned, it is one of the funniest shows that ever existed, but is based on a theme which you wouldn't think would be funny at all. . . Three priests trapped in a parochial house on a little island off the coast of Ireland. How on EARTH can that be funny?
But it is.
