Do you remember a little while back when ciao basically, completely crashed on us and all the 'new suggested items' were put on hold for weeks on end!? Then suddenly one day all the hundreds of opinions poured onto the latest opinions page...
Well that was when I posted this opinion, I love this film and I spent a while making my op just as good but I hardly got any reads out of it, so I've made a few changes and if any of you are interested, Read on...
I watched this film on TV one weekend, I was looking forward to it, but I didn't personally think it would be that good, I was wrong! The film was great and almost instantly decided to write an opinion on it!
Anyway onto The Iron Giant itself, the film was originated from a poem written by famous poet, Ted Hughes. The poem was supposedly written for his children but the idea of the Iron Giant was used to create the film by DISNEY and as expected it met all its expectations.
The film tells the story about a young boy called Hogarth Hughes who one night comes across a 50 ft tall iron giant. Hogarth Hughes being himself saves the giant and manages to make friends with the thing, he helps the giant to learn how to talk and become the next super hero.
With all the destruction that a 50ft iron giant could possibly do, the town is on the lookout and with evil federal agent Kent Mansley searching for the giant, times proove hard for both the iron giant and Hogarth.
After convincing the local scrap yard man that the iron giant exists and he is good NOT bad, Hogarth manages to find a place for the iron giant to kip the night, better yet a place he can eat as well. ~ The iron giant only eats metal which makes the scrap heap the perfect place.
Then Hogarth finds himself along with the giant, taking on the whole U.S army! The US is convinced that the giant is nothing but trouble and needs to die, with the help of the scrap yard man and Hogarths single mother, Hogarth believes he can win. So the story goes on to find out whether Hogarth will save the iron giant......
The film is set in Rockwell US and although is only a cartoon, it's a great film indeed. With many voices used for the actors and actresses, surely the best one has to be Hogarths. ~ This voice is done by Eli Marienthal. (I didn't actually know this until , 'babyxxgirl' another fellow ciao member informed me! ~ You should check out her opinions too, they're great!)
It took me a while to get round to seeing this film but I've now seen it and I wasn't disapointed at all, if you're up for a lame laugh and some funny cartoon work, this is one for you, as usual it meets all of DISNEY's expectations, It's a really good story and very touching, also very sad. Produced by Disney, this film is 1 of a kind and I'll surely go back and watch it again one day. ~ It's a film for everyone, the whole family so if you haven't seen it yet, what are you waiting for!!!??? Thanks for reading everyone, cheers ~M~ (EmmaXXX)

"You stay... I go... no following". Well, the Giant's parts go wherever his head is located... lol, hope they'll make the 2nd part of it. Great review =)

Err Emma, apart from the op being great, Disney didn't make it. Warner Bros. Animation Studios made it.
