I watched this for the first time in ages last night, and had forgotten how much I love it!!!!
It is another one of the Disney and Pixar animation films (along with the likes of Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc). I haven't yet worked out what the clue for the next film is in this one, but if you look at Monsters Inc, Boo has a Nemo soft toy and in Finding Nemo the little boy who is waiting to go into the dentists at the end - I'm pretty sure he's reading a Mr Incredible comic....
Ok, the storyline.... Bob Parr and his wife Helen were once the crimefighting heroes, otherwise known as Mr Incredible and Elastagirl. Now, after one particular rescue goes wrong, the man in question decides to sue Mr Incredible (as he didn't want to be saved and now suffers daily pain from the injuries caused by his rescue). This sparks an epidemic so to say, and soon pretty much everyone starts sueing the superheroes for compensation of their injuries. and soon all the superheroes and forced to adopt civilian identities and go into hiding.
This is easier said than done and even though Bob is leading a 'normal' life with a 'normal' job, with his wife and his children, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack (who also all have special powers - except Jack-Jack, who Violet s is the only normal one he finds it hard to forget about the good old days. And so isi known to spend his time listening to police radios, for any drama that he might be able to help out in.
He is then tracked down and his presence requested on a secret assignment. Which he only too readily accepts. Only as he continues to work for this mysterious employer things start to go wrong and Bob, along with the rest of the wolrd, needs help from the rest of his family to be rescued.
At the same time Helen is becoming increasingly worried that Bob is having an affair (due to the fact that he's apparently going away on confrences and is getting fit again) and so decides to go on a mission to find out.
The film itself is very well animated, with lots of detail applied to features such as the peoples' hair - giving it that slightly more realistic feel. I think it can be enjoyed by both adults and children as well which is always a bonus.
It has some really good characters as well, unfortunately these seem to be the ones with relatively small parts (which is not to say that the main characters are not good, but I just think the other characters make the film.) Edna, the designer of the supersuits is brilliant, so full of herself, I think she has to be my favourite character.
It also has some funny moments in it... little ones, like when helen walks past a mirror in her new suit, she suddenly realises that having 3 children has taken its toll. As well as an arguement that Frozone has with his wife near the end. I would say its a good family film, full of fun, action and adventure.

Filmmaker's audio commentaries
Disc 2
*Jack-Jack Attack - a specially animated short film, showing the reasons for Kari, the babysitter's, frantic phonecalls to Helen. I found it very funny
*Boundin - another short film that was shown before The Incredibles in cinemas
*Incredi-blunders- all the bloopers and outtakes put into one mini-film, not sure whether its worth watching.
*Deleted scenes- basically the storyboard before it was cut down. It shows sketches of the animations and ideas before it was actually animated, and the director gives his reasons for deleting the scenes. I fouind it quite interesting.
*Top secret files on the Supers
*Behind the Scenes...'Making of the Incredibles'
