This is yet another brilliant creation from those people at Pixar. It is based on the interestingly incredible lives of a household built up of Heroes.
The Plot:
Bob Parr and his wife helen are two of the worlds best super heroes, who marry each other. When Bob or Mr Incredible as he is known is sued by somebody who did not want to be saved, superheroes are forced into hiding. After Fifteen years, they have three kids, Jack Jack, Dash and Violet who appear to be just as abnormal as their parents. Bob doesn't like his new life and is always looking for somebody to save; to relive the glory days. his wish is granted when he is hired privately for a mission to stop a runaway robot, but things are not how they seem..... I will leave it there for those who have not seen the film.
The Film:
The story line is portrayed wel and there aren't any parts of the film which are unneccessary or out of place. The structure of the film is like a finished puzzle with everything fitting neatly into its rightful place. I espeacially love the way that pixar can take a childs film, a childs story and make it so that two adults with no kids could happily watch it. Here they have done it again. The script and screen play is full of well thought out humour which frankly has me laughing from start to finish. The story is one of those which i think is on the mind of every young child, and i think i am right in saying that secretly it is on the minds of some adults too.....What would it be like to be a superhero, not just the saving people but everyday life? As this film is an animation it can touch on subjects and do things which just wouldn't be possible with a human cast, and it is this which makes the film work even better. with animated characters the film does not lose the sense of imagination which films like this should have. The superhero thing has not been taken over the top by the creators. Their powers aren't completely ridiculous, they are things which people give to superpowers when you imagine it...super strength, that sort of thing....It is this i think which keeps you as a viewer thinking "wouldn't that be cool?". It means that whilst are brains are unable to believe what is happening, our imaginations can. The creators have portrayed the ordinaryness of the Parr's very well indeed. If you didn't know that they were supers then you would think they were an ordinary (cartoon) family, they're not perfect. This film is absolutely perfect for anybody of any age, if you have children and you want them to be quiet then i recommend you buy this film because they will continuously rewatch it, leaving you to do the things that you want to. Also as the film is slightly under two hours, despite the fact with this film i dont think it would be possible, you dont lose your concentration on the film, it is almost of a perfect length. If you have spare money or not then buy this film....
The Extras:
This film has the usualy type of features that you might expect on a pixar film, short films, out takes and deleted scenes etc.
One thing on the extras which is exceptionally excellent is "Jack Jack Attack" which shows you what happened with the baby super whilst being babysat. It is a true piece of animation at all its glory, i dont want to go into this too much, you just must watch it.
One negative about the extras is the deleted scenes. They are not animated, just pencil storyboards which i feel would not interest children and also some of the deleted scenes i feel deviate from the characters we come to know in the finished film.
To close up.... This film is simply brilliant, all ages, boys and girls, i think you could even get away with showing this to a girlfriend and she'd love it!!!!
BUY BUY BUY!!!! you wont regret it.
