Can you remember the heady days of being in Sixth form? Everyone taking driving lessons determined to be the first one to get the new car (most likely something small and cheap to run that your dad would choose) and then there was the discovery of girls....this series which originally screened on E4 focusses on the lives, times and troubles of four friends. Each one of them is to be honest...a bit of a loser and together, they make a fabulous foursome.
This series has been brilliantly written and captures the essence of being old enough to drive...but not old enough to drink, with gusto. It reminded me very much of my time at school in so many ways (not that I want to be known as a geek!) but it also shows with humour, the way that friends can bond together to get through the trials and tribulations of their lives.
There are some amazing characters in this series. The Deputy Headteacher of the school is EVIL and will no doubt remind you of the teacher that everyone was scared of from your own school days. Simon Bird, who has moved from a private school and has to adapt to life in the state system is just great at put downs...and he has a sexy mum too (the shame!)
A highlight throughout the entire series was the way in which digs and jibes were put down...brilliant! (you will get what this means when you see it!)
The trip to the theme park is by far a classic episode and will no doubt send you back on a trip down memory lane.
This series moved to channel four in 2008 and was highly respected with good viewing figures. If you missed it, it is well worth seeing and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a clever laugh.
Summary: Worth a look for sure...if being in sixth form was fun for you!
