The Inbetweeners gives a brutally real but hilarious insight into the school lives of 4 boys - Will, the 'know-all' ex-public school boy who finds himself surrounded by people he has never encountered before and who possesses very witty comebacks, Simon - the boy who freezes up every time he encounters his love Carly (and who gels his hair FAR too much), Jay - the boy who lies about almost everything and who mostly only ever talks about sex, and Neil - well, he's just not very intelligent.
The Inbetweeners I believe is a very unique series which exploits humour related to the misfits in school. Will, Jay, Simon and Neill, in the first series, begin the long climb up the slippery rungs of their school's social ladder, and in the hard journey find themselves awkwardly trying to tug a frisbee off a wheelchaired girl, failing to get with the girls in a caravan outing hosted by Jay and his flatulent father and finding themselves without a car door in Thorpe Park
Although these episodes are not full of cheesy soundtracks and are certainly not full of special effects, car chases and spies they do however provide a calm and humorous evening to say the least. The unique comedy elements - "Will, do you fancy your mum?" "Let's think about that one, Neill. No? Because she's my mum?", which are simple but brilliant, and the catchy jokes - "Car friend" as I'm sure many of you will remember, contribute considerably to making an evening full of six episodes of 'The Inbetweeners', a highly memorable and enjoyable one.
