I really still can't decide whether I really like this film or not, right up until the end I thought this is going to be one of my favourite films, I really love films like this, films that you have to piece together to get the answers, but the ending totally spoilt it in my opinion.
This psychological thriller tells the story about Simon (Ryan Philippe), he wakes up in a hospital to discover he has been in an accident with no memory of the last two years of his life, his wife Anna (Piper Perabo), or his brother's (Robert Sean Leonard) death. His last memory is a vague recollection of car accident. After some initial confusion Simon realises he can move between the years 1999 and 2002 and has the power to change his past and discover the truth about his life during the last two years.
Simon wakes up the night after an accident at his parents house where he seems to have been poisoned, he is told it is two years from the date he remembers and he has a wife, Anna, apparently though his wife isn't the only woman he has forgotten, Simon goes back and forth in time figuring out what he has forgotten and its not a pretty story, without giving too much of the plot away Simon wasn't a very nice person, but struggles to believe this about himself. All this and a phantom person apparently trying to kill him, makes things very confusing for him, but he gets the full story in the end, but not without some horrific consequences.
This film is very similar to the 'Butterfly Effect' in that both main characters travel back in time to try and change the future and fail on several occasions, even the ending is similar in the sacrifices they have to make. Though I enjoyed both films I did find myself saying to the TV 'if you know what happens, WHY are you even going up the stairs/to the house/driving?" If you know what I mean?
Like I said for the most part I really enjoyed this film, It was very interesting and quite easy to follow, some of the plot was very obvious but there was also some interesting twists, but the ending, was very much not expected and I'm still not sure I understand it now.
Ryan Phillippe played the role of Simon excellently, but I've always been quite fond of his acting though, especially Cruel Intentions (yes I know I'm that sad), the two leading ladies, Piper Perabo and Sarah Polley, were also impressive, I'm not sure if I've seen them in anything before though. All the acting was pretty convincing and this helped me really get into the film.
I would recommend this film to almost anyone, especially if you enjoyed the Butterfly effect, but don't expect a spectacular ending, more like they were running out of time so thought 'quick how can we end it'
If you get the chance rent this film, it's not bad Sunday night entertainment.

Advantages: A good idea and some solid performances Disadvantages: difficult to follow
...abother psychological thriller from among the video shelves! It seems we can't get enough of them but with so much competition what puts one above another?
The I inside is a complicated piece which starts at the end and the film goes full circle. Ryan Phillipe (anti trust) stars as a young man who wakes in hospital after an accident with no memory of the last two years only to be told he is now married to the manipulative piper paerebo (coyote ugly) ... ...really controling time and reliving the years he missed?
The plot isn't exactly unique but has it's compelling moments especially when he begins altering the past. He is also haunted by a figure he believes is trying to kill him! This makes for compelling viewing and does come up a standard on other psychological thrillers. This does get a little confusing when he begins to shift from future to past as it becomes increasingly difficult to remember ...

Advantages: Unsentimental, hilarious, fun Disadvantages: a little sad (though uplifting) at the end
InsideI'm Dancing
Left to my own devices this is not a film that I would have watched. Nothing about it appealed to me, it seemed to come into the category in my mind of the sort of film that has a 'message' or a 'point' to put across to the rest of the world, some patronising statement about how disabled people are just like 'normal' people, the sort of film designed to induce pity as a way of making people feel better about themselves, and a sickly sweet way of looking at the hard facts of life.
However my mother watched it, and enjoyed it so much (she rarely watches films) that she insisted I watch it as well. Begrudgingly I sat down, prepared for a couple of hours of maudlin sentimentality, and was pleasantly shocked and surprised at the film I saw. This film turned stereotypes upside down, and danced on them. A tough ...
Advantages: see what other people lives are like Disadvantages: another film that made me cry
I have wanted to see this film since i first heard of it. Unfortunatly i had to wait until it came on dvd because our local cinema didnt show it.
Christian O'Riley developed the idea of Inside Im Dancing from his experiences of working at the Centre for Independent Living in Dublin. While here he worked with a man who had Cerebral Palsy, who was campaigning for personal assistance funding and equality for disabled people in society. It was while he was working with this young man that Christian saw the challenges faced. And so a film was made.
Inside im Dancing is a deeply moving story about a disabled pair who are dedicated to life and, despite being in wheelchairs, obsessed with the idea to live as normally as possible.
Michael is 24 years old and suffers from cerebral palsy. He's living in Carrigmore Home for Disabled - "a ...
Advantages: feel good film Disadvantages: plot drags
I'd seen this film trailer at the cinema however, like most films, I never got around to seeing it whilst it was out. I think this is because it wasn't a 'big' hit and so not advertised by every means possible like most films!
I did keep a note of it though and bought it when it came out on DVD. Having bought it it was a film that I didn't instantly watch. I felt that it was quite a serious film yet would be quite a feel good film and so I needed to be in the right mood to watch it. Feeling a bit down one night, me and my mum decided to watch it.
On the initial watching I really enjoyed it and, as predicted, it was a feel good film and I did feel a lot better after. The film also highlights some things that disabled people within society have to go through that we may not automatically think about and so it is also eye opening from ...

DVD Description
The psychological thriller THE I INSIDE features the uncertainty and anxiety of time-travelling and amnesia films such as THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT and MEMENTO. Ryan Phillippe stars as Simon, who awakens in a hospital with no memory of the last two years. When he discovers that his brother Peter (Robert Sean Leonard) is dead and that he is married to Anna (Piper Perabo), a woman he has no recollection of, he sets out to discover what has happened to him and why he cannot remember it. Both helping and frustrating his investigation is the fact that he seems to be shifting back and forth between the present and two years earlier, the last period of time he can remember. Is he really travelling through time, or is his amnesia just the sign of a greater madness
