under the skin of the body and on a tour of the respiratory and circulatory systems. An audio guide talks you through how to make the most of this highly innovative learning product. Clicking onboxes next to a model of the human body, you can for example immediately watch videos of the human heart, rotate models of individual organs, examine photographs and read articles. It does take some time to understand how to use all the tools in this package and how to access and explore all the different sub-levels of information. But, this CD-ROM clearly brings the workings of the human body to life in a startling way and will answer the questions of most schoolchildren and students. It surely spells the end of one-dimensional diagrams in dry biology books and offers pupils a far more engaging and richer learning experience. --Justin Hunt

lugubrious-but-magisterial Lord Winston,The Human Bodyis an all-singing, all-dancing National Curriculum-compatible CD-ROM that serves as a guide to the subject that fascinates us above all others: ourselves. The format is at first mildly perplexing, but on greater acquaintance hugely absorbing. Using the special Life Stages 'navigation ball' the viewer can scroll through six stages of human existence, from womb to wheelchair, taking in some highly involving videos, stills and sound recordings of important bodily processes, like blood circulation or hormone replacement. An authoritative medical dictionary allows you to understand difficult terms, or cherry-pick subjects of special interest; there's also a section, "YouWatcher", devoted to personal health, and offering dietary advice, lifestyle options, even a personal fitness programme based on questionnaires. But perhaps the coolest bit is the interactive "Bodylabs" section. Here you can play some nifty games with, for instance, your on-screen sperm ("hit that ovary in sixty seconds"), follow the destiny of a meal as it's devoured and digested, and implant the egg you fertilised in the wall of a virtual uterus. You can also make your cyber-self hiccup, sneeze, cough, yawn and belch--a pretty much ideal antidote to that eaten-too-much-turkey post-Christmas dinner feeling. --Sean Thomas

My parents bought me this book when I was about 10 years old as I used to be really into learning about the humanbody. I used to like looking at it but I though some parts were too complicated and stayed on the shelf in my wardrobe. I discovered it again a few weeks ago so as I'm doing anatomy as part of my Speech and Language Therapy course I decided to take a look.
Anatomy is the study of the structure of the humanbody and physiology is the study of the functions
~ About the Book ~
The first two pages of the book give an overview of the book. The book is divided into two main sections. The first section is the anatomy of the humanbody and the second section is about diseases and disorders. I'll talk about each section separately.

Hello again,
It has been over a year since I have last written one of my DVD ops and I had planned writing quite a few so I thought it was about time to get my fingers flexing and right a hardcore review on one of my favourite DVD’s. Well as you’ve probably realised by now, my ops is about Human Traffic.
When I speak to most people about this film and ask them if they have seen it they seem to stare at me blankly probably thinking I’m speaking of some Economics video talking about the problems of traffic. Well I can assure you now this film is not about Economics and people who think it is might be a little disturbed as to what it actually is.
Plot:
I think all good film reviews must start with the plot (however don’t quote me on that because my other reviews probably didn’t) and here it is. It ...

I have a very inquisitive five year old daughter who forever seems to be asking questions that have me stumped particularly when these questions are to do with how our bodies work - I admit that I was never into Biology at school! This is why I was delighted when, in Marks and Spencer recently, I came across a book described as a magic skeleton book called The HumanBody. It had a recommended age of five years plus so was absolutely ideal for Rachel's fifth birthday.
The book takes the form of a story and shows some children at school with their their teacher who explains that they are going to learn all about the humanbody. She then proceeds to talk about the skeleton moving on to the skull, the heart, the lungs, the stomach and finally cells - so really covering quite a lot of the different parts of the body! This story is just ...
