Advantages Advantages A classic that has to be watched

Disadvantages Disadvantages For me none - for younger people could be dated

THE GRADUATE 1967 FILM ONLY REVIEW INTRODUCTION "Mrs. Robinson do you think we could say a few words to each other first this time." I am showing my age now when I say that one of my favourite films I watched in the cinema in my teens was 'The Graduate ' in 1967. For people of my generation (old!), this film is seen as a classic, and as far as I am concerned it has maintained its legendary status after 40 years. For a film though, that is so commonly labelled a classic, (at the moment The Graduate is number 17 in the 100 greatest Film list) it is an often ridiculed and maligned film. 'The ... more

Advantages Advantages A really witty film. Good for a laugh

Disadvantages Disadvantages It is too short

There are so many run of the mill films out there that when I see something different that is still entertaining I’m impressed. That to me is a good film. The Graduate is one of those films. Maybe it’s just my taste, but I don’t think so. Is it so amazing that a film has amazing special effects or huge explosions? All that really means is that the film has a bigger budget but it is the story that really counts. Look at Waterworld for example. A fortune was spent on that film and it was a complete flop. A lot of money was lost. And also this recent film about the new ice age ... more

Advantages Advantages Anne Barncroft, Dustin Hoffman, Katherine Ross, Funny, Timeless

Disadvantages Disadvantages I haven't found any.

The Graduate was made in 1967, the same year I was born, so I consider it is of particularly fine vintage. I had watched this film a number of times in the past, but noticed that it had not been on recently. When I saw it for sale on Amazon for only £4.99 I decided that this was just too good to be true and snapped it up. There was a lot of old classic movies being sold on Amazon at Christmas, and I bought up quite a few of them. Reviewing something like the Graduate is quite a daunting undertaking, and I am sure I don't ,at least on a basic level, question my ability to do so. The Graduate is ... more
