How many times can you say you've seen a film and it gets better everytime you watch it. Not many ! This was the first big budget western , and perhaps the reason it has stood the test of time is that it was never a slave to the fashion and style of the era it was born of. Watching the film is complete immersion in the characters and the story. And Clint Eastwood shows why he was a true god of the silver screen. Never has a man said so much by saying so little. Some kids wanted to be John Wayne , but all the cool ones wanted to be Clint. Hopefully the DVD revolution will bring this film to a whole new generation of Clint wannabes.
