Review of The Gods Must Be Crazy / Gods Must Be Crazy 2 (DVD)
Advantages: Laughs for the whole family Disadvantages: None
...watched this film back in the early 90's and loved it then but wasn't sure I'd still feel the same watching it now (I was pretty young back in those days!). But I ordered them anyway and sure enough I still loved watching them both and so did the rest of my family including my young nephews. It's refreshing to have a film that appeals as much to adults as children and with no violence or swearing, just wholesome good fun. When you first start watching ... ...realise that it's perfect for the type of comedy it is and you'll soon be totally lost in it (and in giggles!). It's based around tribal Africans' perspective on civilisation and how crazily 'supposedly' civilised people behave. If you enjoyed channel 4's "Meet The Natives" then you'll absolutely love this!!! ...

In 'Gods Must Be Crazy' a discarded Coca Cola bottle falls from the air amidst an isolated tribe of African bushmen, who think it is a gift from the gods. One man sets out to return it but, the closer he gets to civilisation, the less civilised he becomes. In 'Gods Must Be Crazy 2' Xixo, the bushman who lives deep in the African desert following the life of his ancestors, collides again with civilisation when he embarks on a search for his children. He soon crosses paths with an odd couple, who are lost in the desert and a crazy adventure begins.
