Advantages: Great storyline, great acting, great suspense Disadvantages: If anything, maybe centred around the girl a bit too much

The girl who plays Ruby has never really made it big in a film although she has been in quite a few other roles, the young boy who plays Rhett was also in The Patriot and Jurassic Park III (the latter of which I have reviewed). The characters develop nicely throughout the film and I can say I thoroughly enjoyed this.

I am a hard person to please especially when it comes to thrillers but this is definitely one to go and see at the cinema, well worth the cash! The story is unique, the acting is superb, there are plenty of edge-of-your-seat moments, so go and enjoy it - I know I did.

Id love to explain more of this film in order to convince you to watch it but if i do then there will be no suprise at the end. I bought this film on a whim without having seen it so basically had no idea what to expect.

Advantages: A good story Disadvantages: Not particularly thrilling
Introduction
I picked this up because it was described as a psychological thriller and that's exactly the sort of film I like. I hadn't heard of it, but then I've often seen films that I haven't heard of and enjoyed them. Well, there was a reason I hadn't heard of it. It wasn't a terrible film, but there was nothing completely gripping about it either. It whiled away a couple of hours, but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to get hold of a copy.
The story
Rich kids Ruby and Rhett are devastated when their parents are suddenly killed in a car accident. Their parents had asked their former neighbours, the Glass's, to act as guardians to Ruby and Rhett should anything happen to them and before they know it, the children have moved to a huge house in Malibu and are going to new schools.
All seems well at first, until Ruby ...
The basic premise of this series: Gordon Ramsay goes to a struggling restaurant, tells the chef the food is sh*t and the owner he's a wan*er. The owner kicks off and argues with Gordon, before giving into his proposals, and finally rejoicing when Gordon saves the restaurant from going down the pan, all in the space of a week.
This DVD release sees Gordon return to four of the restaurants he worked in for series 1:
Bonapartes Restaurant, Silsden, England
The GlassHouse, Ambleside, England
The Walnut Tree Inn, Llandewi Skirrid, South Wales
Moore Place, Esher, England
Basically, they re-hash the original episode (re-showing most of it), then Gordon goes back to see how they're doing now.
Ramsay is an intriguing character. He first came onto our screens in the documentary 'boiling point' which followed his kitchen ...

better DVDs out there! It was good fun to watch especially after a few glasses too many.
The soundtrack is mostly house music with Bob Sinclair and David Guetta featuring. I would not recommend the DVD at all simply because it is meant to teach you something and it does not achieve this at all. Pink Paradise is considered a ?high class? striptease venue near the Champs Elysees in Paris and I would say the purpose of the DVD was actually intended to promote the club rather than to teach us anything.
It?s a bit of light-hearted fun and should be taken that way. With an RRP of £19.99 I certainly wouldn?t waste my money on it but it was a funny and memorable part of the hen night. If you want to learn to strip tease I suggest you take real lessons and don?t spend your money on this DVD. You will not learn any secrets from it and you may end ...

DVD Description
THE GLASS HOUSE, director Daniel Sackheim's sleek neo-noir thriller, is a modern Hansel and Gretel story with elements borrowed from HAMLET, set in California. As it opens, Ruby (Leelee Sobieski) watches unflinchingly while her friends cover their eyes from the horrors of a slasher movie. She deals with her over-concerned parents with cool resourcefulness. But, then her parents die in a car crash. Ruby learns from the family lawyer (Bruce Dern) that she and her younger brother Rhett (Trevor Morgan) will be well provided for, and will live with their sympathetic ex-neighbors Terry and Erin Glass (Stellan Skarsgard and Diane Lane). Terry and Erin's new home is a modern mansion--all steel and glass--built on the cliffs of Malibu. But, all is not well beneath the cool surfaces of THE GLASS HOUSE. Ruby has to decide whether it is her imagination, or is she being watched as she undresses; and whether Terry is making a pass at her, or just fastening her seat belt; and whether Erin is shooting up drugs, or simply taking insulin to combat her diabetes; and whether Terry is really being menaced by well-dressed thugs. Sobieski plays Ruby with steely resolve as she tries to deal with the mysteries of THE GLASS HOUSE.
