DVD Description
In this near-perfect suspense movie adapted from the popular 1960s television series that starred David Janssen, renowned vascular surgeon Dr. Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford) has been falsely accused and convicted--on circumstantial evidence--of his wife's (Sela Ward) murder. While Kimble is being transported to prison, another convict stabs an inattentive guard, causing a massive wreck. Kimble escapes but is hunted by tough U.S. marshal Sam Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones). The fugitive from injustice attempts to set the record straight: He transforms himself into a jack-of-all-trades and a man of a thousand faces in a desperate attempt to uncover the truth about his wife's murder and track down the real killer. Spectacular special effects and a pulse-pounding performance by Ford turned Andrew Davis's thrilling film into a blockbuster at the box office, leading to a sequel, U.S. MARSHALS.
Award information
OSCAR: Best Actor In A Supporting Role 1994 (Tommy Lee Jones)
Advantages: Harrison Ford at his best. Disadvantages: Not original.
...This film has two major problems, it is at times rather derivative and of course it is a re-make/spin off from a television series from the 1960\'s which instantly makes it more difficult to stand out because you are well aware that it lacks originality of its own.
Problems aside.. Harrison Ford comes up with a near perfect performance as Dr Kimble, a surgeon wrongly accused of his wifes murder and becoming a rather unlikely fugitive of the law, hotly chased by US Marshal, Samuel Gerard played by Tommy Lee Jones.
This thriller is played out at an exhilirating pace and is filled with twists and turns to keep you watching again and again.
The DVD itself is unspectacular, but if you are simply focussed on the film itself, then you will struggle to find a better thriller from the 1990's.
One of Fords best....

Advantages: Action packed,Great film Disadvantages: None
...This film stars Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. The film is full of action and keeps you watching unlike some other films that make you so bored after the first 5 mins. Ford is the fugitive who is convicted for killing his wife and determined to prove his innocence. Tommy Lee Jones is the US marshall who is brought in to find him and send Ford back to prison.
You will see a train wreck and Ford jumping from a tunnel above a waterfall, most of the other marshalls think that Ford is dead but Tommy lee would rather see the body before he says yeah alright he's dead. Its a non stop action film. The actors are great. Another great film for Ford and Tommy Lee Jones.
This is a must see film, If you haven't seen it yet then what are you waiting for? go out and get it....

Advantages: Thrilling, Dramatic, Excellent performances Disadvantages: The lead character is too lucky!
...This film must be among the best ever. It is thrilling from the start and the audience sympathises with Ford's character, as you always know he has been wrongly convicted. You share in his frustration and pain throughout his journey. The action is also excellent, and is always believable, apart from the fact that the main character is far too lucky, surviving many near-death experiences in true Hollywood style. The actors put in excellent performances, with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee-Jones particularly commendable. This film does not leave any disturbing thoughts with the viewer, as many thrillers do. This film is a classic, and highly recommended, just stay clear of The Fugitive: The Chase Continues, which is an appauling film, and only connected to the main film by the name "Richard Kimble"....
