After seeing the trailers for The Forgotten and missing it at the cinema I decided to buy the DVD as the film looked interesting.

Basic Plotline
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Telly Paretta's son Sam is killed in a plane crash on his way to camp 14 months ago, along with 6 other children including Ash Correll's daughter Lauren. Telly is seeing a shrink about this and he tries to get her to stop looking at Sams stuff and photos, in order to wean herself off the memories. Not too far into the film, Telly is told by her husband and shrink, that Sam never existed and that she is delusional and has been for 10 years since having a miscarriage.

Telly refuses to believe this because her memories are so strong and so sets out to find something to prove that her son did exist, however every phot and video has been removed or wiped out.

Telly turns to Ash Correll who lost his daughter Lauren, however he denies that he ever had a daughter. He calls the police and the FBI try to take her away but Telly escapes from them thanks to Ash. She proves to him that he did have a duaghter that he has forgotten and he starts to help her try to discover the truth......

So why are the FBI involved? Why does nobody remember the children? Are the children really dead? What is the truth?

Well you will have to watch the film yourself to discover this as I will get shot if I give away the ending.

Main Film Characters
Julieanne Moore - Telly Paretta
Anthony Edwards - Jim Paretta
Gary Sinise - Dr Jack Munse
Dominic West - Ash Correll

The film is one hour and 27 minutes long. My copy also had some Special Features including the making of.

SUMMARY
++++++++

I did get into the film, however it was not quite what I expected and the ending leaves a lot to be disired in that it does not answer all your questions. We watched it and sat there saying, yeah but what happened and why???

The film is a little scary in parts and certainly made me jump more than once. The special effects are quite good, however some of the characters are a bit bland and I feel that the storyline does not go into enough depth and does not fully anser the questions.

The film moves a little fast as well. The dvd cover tells you basically what I have told you in the start of my review, so I do not give anything away, but when you have seen the film you will understand what I mean when i say it does not go deep enough into the story.

Nice review, I tend to agree - this film fundamentally failed, but the effects are quite memorable (in fact the only memorable part of the film!)

Sounds quite good to me. Might get this out of the video shop some time. Thanks, Triciax
