This DVD is all about the Bristol Blenheim, a Fighter/Bomber that is still very welcome on the Airshow Curcuit today.

When Lord Rothermere (Owner of the Daily Mail) Said to Aircraft Manufacturers in 1935 that he wanted them to build a Twin Engine Monoplane that was equal to Aircraft being built overseas he felt it would be the best in the world.

Little did he know that Trouble was brewing in Mainland Europe and his Creation would go on to serve in all three main theatres of action in World War II.

Yet, as the Title of the DVD States, the Blenheim is the "Forgotten Bomber" as virtually no-one remembers the Aircrafts contribution to the Defense of This Country.

On the Blenheims First test flight it proved itself so fast at over 300mph it left the R.A.F.s Front line fighters standing as it outran them by 50mph. Lord Rothermere had named the Aircraft "Britain First" , A truly patriotic name for a home designed & built aircraft.

In July 1935 "Britain First" was presented to the nation and immediately the R.A.F. started trials to convert it into a Fighter/Bomber.

The R.A.F.s First Offensive Wartime Sortie was flown using Blenheim Aircraft , 15 of them in fact, against Shipping in Welhelmshaven using Photographic Reconnaissance from another Blenheim the Previous Day! The Raid wasn't the best success but Several Ships were damaged including the Pocket Battleship Admiral Sheer. 5 Blenheims failed to come home.

The DVD follows The Blenheims career throughout the War up until they were replaced by Faster and Better Armed Aircraft.

You also meet the Restoration Team led by Graham Warner based at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford Airfield in Cambs (Just of the M11) who are in the process of Rebuilding to Flying Status a 2nd Bristol Blenheim.

This Aircraft will replace another Blenheim that took them 12yrs to rebuild that crashed at an Airshow in 1987.
Regretfully the crash was due to Pilot Error and to top that off, It had only been back in the Air for one month after the restoration!

The DVD is a PAL Region 0 (Free) so it'll play in any system.

It only lasts an Hour but in that time you'll see sweat, tears, heroism and some beautiful footage of this Historic Aircraft.

The Footage is in Colour And Black & White as you do see Footage from the Blenheims Entire History.

With Dolby Digital Stereo Surround Sound this makes it clear to hear for anyone within say 50ft if you have the volume right up!

This is a brilliant DVD of a Forgotten Bomber.
You can look at anything from 99p to £14 for this DVD & I haven't seen a VHS Price
