Never Trust A Rich Stranger - The Last King Of Scotland DVD

Advantages: Great strong story, memorable characters, wonderful performances and a powerful film.
Disadvantages: Plot at times a bit complex and I cannot remember the soundtrack.

Belonging to a film club I get to see a lot of films. In fact, watching films is one of my favourite pastimes. Recently I watched ?The Last King of Scotland?. It is a 2006 British drama film based on Giles Foden's novel. It tells the fictional tale of Dr Nicholas Garrigan (James McAvoy). He is a young Scottish doctor who visits Uganda and meets with dictator Idi Amin (Forest Whitaker). On meeting Idi Amin he soon becomes his personal physician and this is where the story begins. The film is based around actual events of Amin's dictatorship. The film begins in Scotland 1970 when Nicholas Garrigan graduates from medical school. The young man has no idea of the events that are about to take place in his life. He has no idea how his work will change history or where he will end up. ASDA flowers nightmare

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Mix-up with the order, Unreliable service, No full refund offered, Poor quality flowers

I ordered the "Fresh Elegance" bouquet for my mum to be delievered on saturday for Mother's Day. On the plus side, ASDA did deliver on the correct day. However, when she phoned me up to thank me for them, I realised that what she was describing most definitely was not what I had ordered for her. It was supposed to be a beautiful bouquet of flowers (3 Mini Gerbera Torrina, 1 Gyps, 3 Chrysanthemums white, 2 Santini Ceasar, 2 Rubelina Palm and 1 Lily pink) and instead she received a white plant pot covered in soil, with roses, 3 of which had fallen off and others which had been squashed. If it was just a mix-up with the order then I could have been a little more understanding but the fact that the plant pot she did receive was so awful I wouldn't trust the quality of ASDA flowers. I phoned them up and they apologised for the mistake ...

FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC (1987) DVD (2005) I should avoid watching films of books that I have enjoyed! Well in this case I certainly should. I can remember back, gosh must be nearly thirty years now, reading the book ?Flowers in The Attic?, by Virginia Andrews. I was utterly enthralled and had to stay up until 4.00 in the morning as there was no way I could sleep until I had finished the book. So when I saw the DVD of the film on sale at Amazon for around £2, I snapped it up. I sat down with a bottle of wine and much anticipation, only to be left feeling cheated and disappointed.
