Teen flick set in the street racing underworld of fully modded cars, hot chicks, cool guys, and red hot cars! I've been awaiting the release of this movie since I saw the trailers, and I wasn't disappointed when I finally got to watch it :) Especially since Paul Walker is in it phwaor!

~*~ General Story ~*~
Street racing scene in LA. A recent upwards trend of hijacking electrical goods from lorries is being investigated. An undercover cop, Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker - *drools*), gets into the street racing scene and befriends Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his gang, and becomes 'one of the boyz'. Dom is well-known in the racing world and is a boy-racer idol, but he is also the main suspect for the hijacking.
Brian comes to face where his loyalties lie when he has to choose between his 'boyz' or his job as the cop. I won't go further, but you can guess what happens in the end.

The stunts and race scenes were pretty good, although racer mates of mine have pointed out that the foot work is unrealistic at times. The movie quite accurately represents the real life street racing lifestyle.
For a film like this, the storyline is more or less an excuse to showcase the cars and the racing scenes. However, being an ever-demanding critic, fast cars, races and action just ain't enough.
TFATF actually has a decent storyline, albiet limited. With cars and action, there's always babes and hotties. But this movie combines brotherhood (between Brian and Dom), loyalty (friendship and teamwork of the gang), and romance (between Brian and Dom's sister, played by Jordana Brewster).
Ja Rule plays a role in the movie as one of the racers that Brian and Dom race against. Funnily enough, the soundtrack features a few a few of Ja Rule's tracks :P

The soundtrack is pretty good if you like rap and hip hop. Here goes:
1. Good Life Remix - Faith Evans feat. Ja Rule, Vita and Caddillac Tah 2. Pov City Anthem - Caddillac Tah 3. When A Man Does Wrong - Ashanti 4. Race Against Time Part 2 - Tank feat. Ja Rule 5. Noreaga 10. Hustlin' - Fat Joe feat. Armageddon 11. Freestyle - Boo & Gotti 12. Rollin' (Urban Assault Vehicle) - Limp Bizkit feat. DMX, Method Man and Redman 13. Life Ain't A Game - Ja Rule 14. The acting in this movie isn't exactly great, and the plot gives plenty to be desired. But in general, this is a pretty good movie overall. It's great if you are looking to chill and enjoy an easy-to-watch movie with your friends. However you probably wouldn't watch it more than a few times, so don't bother buying it unless you really love it.
The DVD has special features and interviews with the cast of the movie - if you like the movie, then it's worth taking a peek.
Watch out for the sequel to this movie: 2 fast 2 Furious.
