The fast and the FURIOUS! Ok, it is fast and it is most definetly furious! What gone in 60 seconds (angelina jolie, nicolas cage) should have been!
When I first heard about the fast and the furious, I just imagined it to be as dissapointing as gone in 60 seconds was! (although it was still a good film!) and did not make immediate plans to attend the preview! Then I saw the film trailer. WOW. just as I never imagined, cars. car chases, and more cars.
A car chase film which actually involved a car chase! (unlike gone in 60) The trailer alone was exciting and fun, although you may think all the best bits have been crammed into it, you'd be wrong! There's plenty more action where that came from!
An under cover cop has been sent to join a gang of road racers, who they believe to be armed hi-jackers. The hi-jackers are masked professionals who have hi-jacked a lorry full of DVD players worth lots of money!
The police, being the police, want it back! And will go to major lengths to get it!
The undercover cop however, has different plans and falls in love with the main hi-jackers sister! (does Point Break ring any bells here?)
The cop finaly gains the groups trust by competing in illegal road races, then saving the main man (Vin Deisel) from the police!
It is soon found out about Vin being a cop, but before they can 'sort him out' he proves them wrong, and is accepted with them once again.
As the police were taking their time catching the hi-jackers, the truck drivers took matters into their own hands in the form of shot guns! Now, the must have item for trukkies, not a walkman, not a tv, but a shot gun! To fight back against the hi-jackers!
The hi-jackers set out again to rob another truck. All is going well until out come the shotguns!
Once again the cop saves the day, but you'll have to watch it yourself to find out how!
Accompanied by an explosive sound track The Fast and The Furious is 2001's must see film! There's even a storyline in there!
One bad point about this film, i must say, is that it's exactly the same (storyline) as Point Break (keanu reeves) where an undercover cop becomes a surfer to catch a group of armed robbers. he falls in love with the main robbers sister then saves them all from the police at the end.
But then point break is a fairly good film so who's complaining?

Manx, hi, thanks for commeting and rating my opinion. Are you a film student? If i went into cinematography, shot lengths mise en scene and more we'd be here all day! I do agree that some of the cinematography etc could be improved but i still think the film to be a good one! Thanks again!
Advantages: Back to the cruising scene with great cars, great sound systems and great girls. Action packed Disadvantages: It's not as good as Fast and Furious, poor acting, unrealistic story
Advantages: Plenty of action, nice effects, Vin Diesel, no need to think too hard. Disadvantages: Not really any, unless you're expecting something that it's not.
