This fourth entry in THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS franchise reunites the original stars: ... more
Michelle Rodriguez, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, and of course the bad dude himself, Vin Diesel. Needless to say, there's going to be a lot of speed and demolition, especially in the fantastic opening truck hijack executed at amazing speeds by Dominic (Diesel) and his sexy partner in crime, Letty (Rodriguez). When Letty gets killed, it's revenge time, with the path of the bad guy leading Dominic back across the border to Los Angeles (where he's still wanted by the law) and into a high-stakes street race in which he's teamed up with his old nemesis, undercover fed Brian O'Conner (Walker). As in the original, Brewster makes a foxy love interest for Walker (she's Dom's kid sister), but there's not much time for kissing: there's races to be won, huge accidents to cause, and shady smuggling plots to foil.

Advantages: Plenty of action, nice effects, Vin Diesel, no need to think too hard. Disadvantages: Not really any, unless you're expecting something that it's not.
Last week, me and a friend decided to meet up and go to the cinema. After looking at the listings, the only thing we could come up with was Fast and Furious. I have not seen the earlier films in the franchise, but knew enough about them to know what to expect. Plenty of action, car chases, mindless fun, Vin Diesel, and brains left in the lobby. I was not disappointed, in fact it was better than I expected.
The film starts with Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and others, including girlfriend Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) in Mexico, carrying out a hijack on a tanker road train. Good effects, improbable driving, and it finishes with some spectacular pyrotechnics. I was also seriously impressed with the sound at the new Showcase Cinema at Highcross in Leicester, at some points the whole place seemed to be shaking. We later learn that Letty has ...
Advantages: Good effects, good sountrack Disadvantages: Skethy plot, average cast, characters don't have enough personality
I have very mixed feelings towards this film and I came out of the cinema not really knowing whether I loved or hated the film. I suppose I loved the Fast and the Furious because it was action packed, unpredictable and kept me in permanent suspense. Though I hated it because there wasn't any basic storyline or plot. And I've never seen a film that has no basic storyline or plot so did I genuinely hate the film or was I just simply scared of something different to a typical film?
What the Fast and the Furious really has going in its favour is that it is total non-stop action, at 1hr 40 it doesn't feel stretched or too long and director Rob Cohen seems to excel in keeping the viewers attention throughout the film.
Unfortunately though the Fast and the Furious has plenty not going in its favour. Firstly nothing actually happens in ...
What more can I say Paul Walker, not only is he great looking but I think he is a great actor, too add to that you also have Vin Diesel. The film has great special effects and not that I am a huge car fan but the cars are great too.
Dom played by Vin Diesel and his gang all have great cars and at night they like to show them off and race against others, when one night Brian played by Paul Walker wants to race, he does not have the money to, but offers his car if he loses. Brian looks like he is going to win, but at the last minute is beaten by Dom.
Brian saves Dom from the cops so Dom takes Brian into his gang, which no one is happy with apart from his sister, who has a soft spot for Brian.

THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS is a nitro-burning joyride that makes outstanding use of special effects, innovative camera work, and a nonstop throbbing soundtrack. From the opening sequence--a high-speed, high-tech truck robbery--the film never drops below the red line. Roaring along at breakneck speed, Dom (Vin Diesel) and his crew meet on the streets of L.A. each night to show off their high-powered racers. When new guy Brian (Paul Walker) wants to add his fuel to the fire, he can't cough up the cash to race, but offers up his car as collateral. In their tiny jacked compacts, Dom, Brian, and Edwin (Ja Rule) burst into a high-gear race with Brian nearly beating perennial champion Dom. But in the final moments, he loses the race and his car. Brian's debt is quickly cleared, however, when he saves Dom both from the cops and from a potentially violent encounter with Johnny Tran (Rick Yune), a rival gang lord. Dom takes Brian under his wing--a decision that disgusts his gang but delights his sister Mia (Jordana Brewster). The gang never suspects that Brian is not who he seems: he is actually an undercover cop, and though he wishes otherwise, he's there to bust Dom for committing the armed truck robbery witnessed in the opening scenes.
