The English patient is a story of love and war built up from loads of different angles. After studying the book for A level....and finding it far too confusing....I decided to hire out the videa to see if it would guide me towards the meaning of the film. Unbelievably iy did!!! Although parts if the film were still a little confusing in places it was still very much undertandable. The film was very cleverly produced conveying well the time jumps the novel contains. The actors/actresses managed to act the sense of confusion and shell-shock that Ondatjje intended and the film successfully helped me towards my Alevel assignement. This film is a 15 for obvious reason so I would not recommend it to anyone younger. The complex storyline can be off putting fopr those wanting a light film and I would therfore recommend it to people searching for a deep film.

I gave you a lousy rating, since you did not really tell anything about the film. I suppose you should write less ops, but more quality ones.

Sorry about the lousy rating, you just don't say anything about the film: plot, characters, theme(s) etc, etc. Give me a shout if you update at any time. I'd be glad to come back and re-read re-rate ;-)

Just a tip, a little more info on the storyline would help you to get a higher rating. Lynda
