Moulin rouge is one of them films that you either love or you hate. It's like marmite. I myself absolutely love this film. I must have watched it 100 times and it never gets boring. Written By Baz Luhrman with an amazing cast this film truly is a must for any musical fan.

Advantages: Great to see all the initial episodes back together Disadvantages: Hasn't really aged well to todays society
...and Boss Hogg, with the aid of witless Deputy Enos Strate (Sonny Shroyer), dream up ways of eliminating the Dukes--including their wise old Uncle Jesse (Denver Pyle)--but their efforts always backfire.
The set can be bought at all music/video stores and many supermarkets, I found it on Amazon for £19.99.
I was very happy with the picture quality of all 13 episodes, . I've never seen "The Dukes of Hazzard" episodes look so sharp and of high quality.
The extras are great, especially the cast gathering. John "Bo" Schneider and Cathy "Daisy" Bach do commentary for the first episode "One Armed Bandit" and you learn alot of trivia whilst listening to them.
However, as a fan of the series when it was originally shown when I was a child, I found the episodes wuite disappointing. Unlike the A*Team and many others, the show has failed to age well...

Advantages: Incredibly faithful! Disadvantages: Maybe too faithful....
...-fuelled weekend in Las Vegas in the foul year of our lord 1971 (one for the fans there!). He recreates every facet of Thompson's jaunty dialogue and the cloying paranoia of his writing. Brilliant, simply brilliant.
But.......unles you know what is going on beforehand, its unlikely that the film will help you out. Del Toro characteristically mumbles his way through the film, making most of lines anyones guess (although the subtitles make this DVD version better than the video). Locations leap around, jerking the viewer from here to there, day to night, sober to wasted. Frankly, it hurts the brain.
Most of my friends who did not read it would never give the film a second chance, and thats a shame because its one of the truly original films of the 90's, capturing the spirit of the 70's from a director who by all rights should have retired...
