Another DVD from the DresdenDolls LIVE. This one has a great feel. London's Roundhouse was a great place for such a fantastic band to play in there are a number of guest performers. There are a mixture of songs from there albums along with a cover of Mad World and a song from Cabaret.. Plus there is documentary that generally highlights the guest performers with some showing of the band themselves. this is a wondeful oppurtunity to see the great band themselves perform. like Parisde dvd you feel like your there. this is a must have for any Dresdendolls fan and every fan of music
i cannont stress how much that this showcases there talent
i highlty recommend that you watch this. this is a treat for many and a fantastic chance to see the dolls in action ...
Advantages: Unique, Amusing, High Quality, Great Voices, Good Musicains, Interesting album art Disadvantages: Not the best value CD, Some songs to short, Not suitable for young children
The DresdenDolls are a great band, very unique and quite funny at times!
Their song 'Sex Changes' is quite amusing, I love singing it and seeing how people give me weird looks!
I love their style of music as it is unlike any other bands I have heard.
The lyrics are very original and the quality of this CD is very high. It is a great value for money and a must listen.
The album art is quite good, with interesting pictures. The album cover is a nice design.
Quite a lot of people will find that they can relate to some of the things they sing about.
Both members of the band are great musicians! Their dress style is also quite unique and makes the band more interesting! ...
Advantages: Superb acting; low key realism; Lack of prejudice Disadvantages: None (unless you hate reading subtitles)
Every now and then a movie will sneak up and catch you by surprise. So it was for me with Paradise Now, a film I knew nothing about, other than a website blurb about two potential suicide bombers.
Co-written and directed by Hany Abu-Assad this is a story set within the West bank in Palestine, with two friends, Said and Khaled, being offered their chance of martyrdom (hence 'Paradise Now') by carrying out a suicide mission in Tel Aviv.
Both the men react to the invitation with a mixture of relief, confusion and elation, though it is Khaled who seems the happiest to grab the chance. Said is more thoughtful, altogether darker, about the whole affair.
But they are both ready, and then readied after a blackly comic filming of their martyr speeches, as they have their hair shaved short, and bears shaved off, to make them look more ...

Overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds to make sure that old adage 'the show must go on' is adhered to, the Dresden Dolls perform live in Boston on this release. With Boston in the dark after a blackout, the band and its expectant audience had to wait five hours for power to be restored. But when the city flickered back to life the Dolls delivered a set filled with joyous punk-rock energy. Adding a dash of cabaret to the proceedings, the band introduces some theatrical delights throughout the show, with circus acts and various weird and wonderful performers helping to make the night a colourful visual experience. The tracks performed are mostly culled from the Dolls' album, and this memorable night was filmed for posterity at the Paradise Club on June 5, 2005.
