American Special Forces soldier. Spanning more than 40 missions of squad-based combat,Delta Force 2requires players to either work solo or guide a handful of squad members into heavily fortified enemy ground. Most missions involve search-and-destroy objectives and take place on a wide variety of landscapes and locations.Novalogic's decision to reuse their "Voxel Space" engine from the originalDelta Forceprobably won't please gamers hoping for something akin to theUnrealengine. While the Voxel Space engine renders landscapes and patches of grass beautifully, trying to locate items and enemy soldiers from a distance becomes quite difficult; it's simply hard to distinguish long-range enemy voxels (the pixels that comprise Novalogic's 3-D engine) from standard environmental objects. Furthermore, heed Novalogic's warnings and don't attempt to runDelta Force 2unless you meet or, better yet, exceed the system requirements.Despite some performance problems,Delta Force 2includes both a robust and enjoyable single-player experience as well as plenty of Internet and LAN multiplayer options. More than 20 real-world weapons and equipment are included; missions require the use of everything from the M40A1 sniper rifle and APS underwater assault rifle to light anti-tank weapons and camouflage suits.--Doug Radcliffe

This was the first in the series of the Delta Force movies, but it is no better than any of its sequels. Although some of the actors try very hard to bring some realism into the film the basic story line is so weak that their efforts become wasted.

Why do I keep watching these Delta Force films?
This was the first in the series of the Delta Force movies, but it is no better than any of its sequels. Although some of the actors try very hard to bring some realism into the film the basic story line is so weak that their efforts become wasted.
In this film a group of Arab terrorists have hijacked an American airliner and demand the release of their comrades from prison. An elite American fighting unit (Delta Force) is assigned the task of re-taking the aircraft and releasing the hostages.
The pace of the film is so slow and so predictable that you start to wonder why are you watching it. You keep telling yourself that it will get better, but unfortunately it never does.
There are so many machine gun “shoot-outs” where nobody from the Delta Force gets hit that it becomes laughable. A member of the Delta Force team only needs to blink an eyelid and half a dozen terrorists fall down, but a crowd of terrorists can be firing machine guns at a Delta Force member only a few yards away and they all miss him.
The outstanding character in the film is Colonel Nick Alexander, who is played by Lee Marvin. This is the only decent role in the film and Lee Marvin does play it very well.
The worse character in the film is Major Scott McCoy who is played by Chuck Norris. This is an awful part. Major McCoy is supposedly the “hard man” of the Delta Force team and he strikes these awful poses that are supposed to induce fear and trepidation into the terrorists. Instead of that you just watch the film and cringe. One motor cycle sequence that he is involved in is just silly beyond belief.
The first time I saw a Delta Force film I was convinced that it was supposed to be a spoof movie, but I am told that this is not the case and they were made as action/thrillers.
There is some terrible music that is played everytime the Delta Force team is going into “action” and after a while this really does get on your nerves.
By now you have probably guessed that I did not enjoy this film and you would be right. There are a lot of stunts and explosions, but these do not make up for the awful story line.
I certainly will not watch it again and I would suggest that everybody else gives it a miss.
Advantages: Guns, bullets, explosions. Disadvantages: Poor and predictable plot, standard fight scenes, poor acting.
...that you don't bother with the rest of this opinion [though please rate it :)] and watch "Who Dares Wins" instead.
The Delta Force is an elite force of commandos - American of course - trained to deal with any situation and seemingly invincible. The unit is lead by Major Scot McCoy (Norris), who has been pulled from retirement (see where this is going?) after an American Travel Ways airliner is hijacked by terrorists. The plot then develops as the ... ...them.
The action is fairly predictable if you know Norris's style. A healthy dose of gunfire from weapons that never need to be reloaded, and some pretty big explosions. Its thoroughly unrealistic and over the top. In particular the DF team seem to have acquired the most ridiculous equipment: dune buggies sporting high-calibre machine gun mountings, and motorbikes with highly explosive rockets attached to the front and rear. These would make James ...

Advantages: Good plot, action scenes are realistic,as is plot. Fantastic soundtrack. Disadvantages: Not on long enough!
The Delta Force is all about a plane getting hijacked by a group of militant arabs. The hijackers treat the planes passengers like dirt and some are left dead.
This is where the Delta Force comes in. The Delta Force are an elite group - like the SAS. It is their job to free as many of the passengers off the plane. What ensues is a series of failed attempts to storm the plane and leads the Force to Jerusalum. It is here where some of the planes male ... ...the way, with no expense spared on the explosive special effects.
This film has it all, action, adventure, emotion and a stark reminder of the amount of these types of hikackings that was prevelant in the 70's and 80's.
Some of the shooting scenes are a little corny in that Chuck Norris seems to doge every bullet, but then again - every film needs its hero....
Special mention must go to Lee Marvin - fab actor in this film and to the soundtrack, ...

Advantages: FLIGHT CHASE AND EXPLOSIONS Disadvantages: POOR PLOT
THE ACTION OF CHUCK NORRIS IS OKAY AND HE HAVE TO GET MORE TRAINNING. HE COULD HAVE DONE THE STUNTS IN MORE REALISTIC WAY. THE IDEA OF A PRIEST GIVING THE INFORMATION IS GOOD. THE ACT OF THE VILLIAN IS GOOD. THE PLOT BY THE HIJACKERS IS GOOD. CHASING OF THE FLIGHT IS OKAY. THERE ARE NUMEROUS SCENES THAT MAKE THE MOVIE VERY BORING. THERE ARE ALSO SOME VERY INTERESTING SCENES. CHASING OF A PLANE FROM COUNTRY TO COUNTRY IS NOT POSSIBLE, BUT THE MOVIE ...

Advantages: Action shots. Disadvantages: No believable story.
The DeltaForce film series has produced some good films, but this one is a sequel too many.
The special effects are excellent and there is plenty of action, but at the last minute it seems somebody realised that there should be some sort of story.
I can see the scene now, the film makers sat around in a bar discussing what story this action film should have:
Drugs, yes we must have drugs.
Nuclear Submarine, maybe, not sure how that fits in with drugs, but OK.
American warships, OK.
Space, how? Satellites, OK.
South American small country takes on might of USA. Yes, that sounds OK, but USA must win, yes, yes yes, of course.
Statue of Liberty, the symbol of all that is great in America. Yes.
A beautiful woman, of course.
Sex, No, these are hard men, no time for sex.
A computer expert, no a computer nerd, much ...
Advantages: Guns, bullets, explosions. The original but better. Disadvantages: Still predictable, poor plot-wise.
This action sequel shows our hero, Colonel Scot McCoy (Chuck Norris), back in black and tooled to the nines. This time, the brutal murder of his best friend, Bobby, his wife and unborn child prompts Norris to embark on a ludicrous revenge/rescue mission. Slightly better than the original (see my opinion on DeltaForce) this is still a very poor film.
The bad guy is drugs king Ramon Cota (Billy Drago), working from the corrupt country of San Carlo. Drago's performance is perhaps the highlight of the film, with a rather simple portrayal of a bad guy who is, indeed, very very bad. At least you can believe that he's good at his chosen profession, unlike the laughable General Taylor who acts like a kid with his first toy gun.
The plot, weak as it is, sees the DeltaForce called in to rescue 3 DEA agents from Cota's grasp. This ...
