Review of 'The DayAfterTomorrow' DVD.
From the director of Independence Day, Stargate and Godzilla The DayAfterTomorrow was first released on DVD in 2004. The movie genre is Sci-Fi/ action/ adventure/ thriller. The film has a run time of 118 minutes and designated a category 12.
The DVD is a two disc special edition with a whole host of special features, trailers, commentaries, in depth looks behind the scenes and the special effects.
I never watch these to be honest as I find they detract from my enjoyment in the actual movie, therefore I will not pass judgement on this element of the DVD!

I have read many other people's reviews and many of the comments include 'poor acting', 'not very realistic' and 'a shabby plot'.
But I think if you look at the directors aim of this particular movie, i don't think that the quality of the acting was meant to be ( not to be insulting) in line with the acting or 'realism' of many hollywood movies and their stars. Lord of the Rings was a fantastic film and has been recognised as so because of the special effects and the vast crew that have put together the film. It is great in that the plot was already provided by an author which had to be transferred on to film. that particular movie was highly fantastical, about good combating evil. Scientists have been citing Global Warming as a threat to humanity for years now, claiming that the damage we have done to Planet Earth will be our downfall. The DayAfterTomorrow takes that threat seriously, and pits Scientist Jack Hall against the weather. DVD Description
Features the disaster films THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW and VOLCANO. In THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, the planet is threatened by a climatological disaster. The planet's oceans become cooler sparking deadly storms. A new ice age begins. In VOLCANO, an earthquake triggers a giant burst of lava from the La Brea Tar Pits, sending great spews of lava all over various Los Angeles neighbourhoods and causing all manner of flaming magma mayhem. Dedicated Emergency Management director Mike Roark rushes to the rescue, with help from a plucky seismologist.
