First of all I would like to point out that I'm not that much of a Batman fan, but many people had told me that this was exceptionally good. Better than Transformers. This I didn't believe.
*****Cast*****
Christian Bale.....Bruce Wayne / Batman Heath Ledger.....The Joker Aaron Eckhart.....Harvey Dent Maggie Gyllenhaal.....Rachel Dawes Michael Caine.....Alfred Pennyworth Morgan Freeman.....Lucius Fox
*****Plot*****
The Joker is back and he's causing havock in Gotham City. Of course it's down to Batman to put a stop to him and the mob yet again. He has some help from some Gotham detectives, but nobody really knows who they can trust.
*****Opinion*****
As I said above, I had heard a lot of good things about 'The Dark Knight', so it had a lot to live up to. And it did live up to my expectations, although in my opinion Transformers was better. However, there was something that I can't quite put my finger on that makes this Batman different from the others.
There was also a lot made about Heath Legers role as The Joker, I was pretty sure this was just because of the circumstances, but it turns out he plays the role exeptionally well. The Joker has a big part to play in making this movie what it is - brilliant. Whether the role would have been played as well by anyone else is anyones guess. However this was a 10 out of 10 performance.
The rest of the cast performed to the standard you would expect of them. However, one thing that did start to annoy me was Maggie Gyllenhaal's voice.
The movie progressed at a speed which always kept me intrested, at no point was I looking around for something else to do until something exciting happened. I checked how long was left after around 1 and a half hours, saw that there was an hour remaining and was delighted. It is pretty much what you would expect from the story, with some slight twists thrown in.
Theres some great moments when the movie is brillaint both visually and in terms of sound. These generally occur when there's some kind of car chase, or when The Joker is causing some kind of destruction.
So, in summary this is a great movie which should definetely be seen by everyone. I prefered the older Batmans to the more recent ones, until I watched this movie. So, even non-Batman fans can enjoy this. 10/10
