Advantages: It may take a while to sink in, but the movie was almost faultless Disadvantages: Last 5 minutes
...reviews of superhero movies with the clarification that if you're not actually a huge comic book reader, you probably don't really know that much about the characters. Otherwise you're likely to cause offence to those who are comic book readers, and judge the movies for not being relevant or true to the way the story is supposed to pan out. Unfortunately, I'm not the right person to ask if you want to know anything along the lines of what happened ... ...if DC Comics translate to the big screen anywhere near as well as Marvel have in recent years - Batman, or more specifically 'The Dark Knight' is a movie I want to see. On the other hand, it's not really like director, Christopher Nolan, needs my approval as with the hype you shall already know what he has created is the movie of the year. Possibly the superhero movie of the decade. As of July 29th 2008, 'The Dark Knight' has already grossed over ...

Advantages: The Joker Disadvantages: Waay tooooo looooong, too violent for kids, silly Batman
...yet another crime wave at the hands of the mafia and the Joker, who are intent to turn Gotham into a free-for-all for criminals. New District Attorney, Harvey Dent, is determined to get to the bottom of matters, along with James Gordon and Bruce Wayne, who leads a double life as Batman. Some progress is made, but the Joker keeps turning up and thwarting their every move. Can Batman rid the city of the menace that the Joker has become? Or is the Joker's ... ...to me, and apart from the Batman series that was on the television in the seventies, I have never seen Batman in action. However, with Heath Ledger's death earlier this year and the rave reviews that I have read, I decided to go against the grain and see what everyone was talking about. This is, then, a review about the film as a stand-alone, because I cannot comment on how this fits in or compares with previous films. The first thing that stands ...

Advantages: Great Performances and Effects Disadvantages: Messy Plot, Some Things Rushed
...Having just been saved from the ninja group "The Shadows" by Batman a new menace has appeared to terrorise the inhabitants of Gotham City. The psychopathic Joker and his goons. To add to Batmans problems there are well meaning but unskilled impersonators for him to contend with. With the help of charismatic District Attorney Harvey Dent can Batman clean up the city?
Conclusion
Who'd have thought a man dressed up as a bat would be so ... ...that it lives up to the hype.
Having now seen the movie I must say I am a little bit disappointed. Yes, it is a great film. Yes, Heath Ledgers performance is superb. No, it's not the greatest film ever made (see imdb.com top 250).
I was looking forward to this film on the strength of Batman Begins and also being a Christian Bale fan. Having read reviews, I couldn't wait to see it. The film doesn't stop for breath from beginning to end. It's two ...

Advantages: AWESOME! exhillirating and great acting. Disadvantages: none! well, maybe a bit scary for younger?
...was so unhinged and played the character so well, Christian Bale played Batman really well too especially with his enhanced deep voice, this was a really dark film and had me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole film! Even though it was nearly 3hours long it didnt feel like it! Meg Gyllenhall was great too, she knew how to control both the senator and Batman, she looked amazing too in that black slinky chanel dress, to be honest, the shy, ... ...However, back to Heath, even the tongue licks of his lips were uneasy to watch and gave a really spooky and phsycotic take on the character of the joker, the makeup was also really good. *MINOR SPOLIER* I loved the first scene, the bank robbery and how it was so simple yet clever, also really funny when they all ended up killing eachother because they were told to kill the other person so there was more money and less people to pay! Gothem city was ...

...After seeing the previews and hearing of the cast list (including one of the last performances of Heath Ledger) I knew I had to see The DarkKnight. I was a bit aprehensive however due to the film lasting 152 minutes.
So after sitting and watching the ovie for 152 minutes - it only felt like half an hour! Not once did he film get boring or seem to drag. This is probably my favourite movie of all time, I couldn't have asked for more.
Heath Ledger puts in an amazingly fantastic performance as the Joker, I cannot give him enough credit. I recommend this film to anyone - I am not wanting to watch the previous batman films as I hadn't seen them before I watched the DarkKnight. 5* quality film....

Advantages: Brilliant in every way! Disadvantages: Not for the squeamish or young children!
...Having loved the first film, Batman Begins, I was very eager to see The DarkKnight, and even more so after seeing the trailers and the reviews that it received. I waited until the initial frenzy of the opening few weeks had died down a bit, and eventually went to see it recently.
The DarkKnight is set shortly after Batman Begins. Batman (Christian Bale), Detective Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) have successfully locked away many on the criminals off the streets of Gotham City. The remaining few crime lords are approached by a new psychopathic, anarchist, criminal mastermind known as the Joker (Heath Ledger), who offers to rid them of their biggest threat .. Batman.
Batman, Gordon and Dent must work against the clock to find and capture the Joker, as with each day that passes, the Joker...
