The story is very exciting and there is neither a dull moment in this very long film. The various twists and turns in the plot will make you want to carry on watching. The action scenes are very good and the special effects and the picture quality on the Blu-ray disk are amazing.
The acting is brilliant as well, in particular Heath Ledger who acts as a very creepy and cold version of the Joker. His performance is brilliant and was always going to be talked about more because of his circumstances. Bale does a good job but when he is in his batman disguise his voice is very annoying, probably more the person who was in charge of the audio effects more than his.
As I said before the picture quality is amazing and it makes this well worth getting on Blu-ray rather than on DVD. It really does feel like you are almost there even in the darkest of scenes.
The film however is very long but I don`t feel it went on for too long as I wanted to carry on watching for every minute of it.
Overall the Dark Knight is a really good movie which will probably be remembered for Heath Ledger`s creepy and eerie Joker. The film is rated a 12 but probably should be rated at least a 15 as the film is quite dark. The film also includes some extras but these are not particularly spectacular and some are not in high definition which is a bit bad!
Some of the special features on the Blu ray including how parts of the movie were made and shot, episodes of Gotham tonight and you even get a digital copy of the film to put on your laptop e.t.c! The Dark Knight on Blu-ray only costs £14.98 from Amazon, so buy it now!
Advantages: Picture, sound, story, characters, cast etc etc etc Disadvantages: changes from full to wide screen Ion my ps3 dunno about actual blue ray player

BATMAN: One To Buy ..... BUT
Christopher Nolans Excellent Screen Conversion of The Caped Crusader
Both films are set in the dark and dirty city of Gotham, the stories follow Batman as he fights crime and generally saves the day.
Batman Begins: This film basically sets the scene for the probable next few batman films, we see bruce waynes story from the murder of his parents... to overcoming personal demons and rising to become the batman. While stopping along the way to kick Scarecrow butt.

Review
THE DARK KNIGHT is pure adrenaline. Returning director Christopher Nolan, having dispensed with his introspective, moody origin story, now puts the Caped Crusader through a decathlon of explosions, vehicle flips, hand-to-hand combat, midair rescues and pulse-pounding suspense (Hollywood Reporter, 30/10/2008)
Heads up: a thunderbolt is about to rip into the blanket of bland we call summer movies. THE DARK KNIGHT, director Christopher Nolan's absolute stunner of a follow-up to 2005's BATMAN BEGINS, is a potent provocation decked out as a comic-book movie. Feverish action? Check. Dazzling spectacle? Check. Devilish fun? Check. But Nolan is just warming up. There's something raw and elemental at work in this artfully imagined universe (Rolling Stone, 30/10/2008)
An ambitious, full-bodied crime epic of gratifying scope and moral complexity, this is seriously brainy pop entertainment that satisfies every expectation raised by its hit predecessor and then some (Variety, 30/10/2008)
